Default Allergen rules may alter scents of great perfumes

Why do other people always think they know what is best to "protect" the public?

Nice article. Not every day that you get Octavian, Turin, Sheldrake, Doyen, and two &%$#@*^ IFRA bureaucrats in a boxing ring. Perfect exhibition of the nanny-state mentality.

Steven Weller, IFRA's spokesman, called strict regulation "a necessary evil," adding, "If it prevents an allergic reaction, then so be it."
Bullshit. So be it NOT, mon dude. We simply don't need this kind of thinking. So.... the alternative is warnings?

WARNING - contains real jasmine in high concentration.

Frankly, I like the looks of it already. IFRA is really starting to mess with us. Enough is enough. I say it's high time we start messing back. I want my vintage formulations with warnings. Screw IFRA.

PS - could a mod please move this to the Fragrance Industry Discussion board?

It's rather likely that the octopus called IFRA has a couple of arms firmly around the technocrats in Bruxelles, too.

Who are the ten per cent which are not IFRA members? Maybe some of them still have the better fragrances and could need encouragement and support.

IFRA are trying to kill real perfume - it's disgusting.
