    Default Suggestions for gourmands?

I currently own a few gourmands (Yohji Homme, Hanae Mori EDP & EDT, Casran, Cannabis Santal) and am thinking about adding more to my collection. I did own a big 100ml bottle of A*Men a few years ago but found the synthetic burnt sugar opening note too over-powering and nauseous.

I am considering Rochas Man, A*Men Pure Malt, A*Men Pure Coffee (hopefully it counters the sweetness with a slightly bitter coffee note) and B*Men.

Judging by what I currently own (although I am none to keen on Casran) and the fact that I wasn't particularly fond of the regular A*Men, which of these, together with any others, would you suggest?

You just need Pure Coffee. I think, it is the best gourmand in Amen collection. Smooth, pure, silky sweet, not too strong. Great longervity and sillage.

Pure Malt is...weak and just interesting in about first 30minutes.

Rochas Man used to a good gourmand scent.

Another suggestion: Red Aoud by Montale, if you want a luxurious gourmand

How is Lolita Lempicka? I am intrigued about the anise accord.

Which would you choose over that or Rochas Man?

I prefer Rochas Man to the Au Masculin (both are very good), but considering your wardrobe, the Lempicka would be less redundant.

May I also suggest Bvlgari Black?

étincelle, I too share you love for gourmands! I just received my Pure Malt sample this week and have found it too be quite interesting, mostly in the beginning, and the longevity seems to be good as well. I would recommend you try it out if you enjoy gourmands. However, there are two other clear recommendations I have for you. Firstly is Brandy by Brandy, which reminds me of a fresh baked apple pie just out of the oven. If you like apple pie you`ll love this! Second is Love by Kilian. If you have a sweet tooth like me, which I assume you do, I think this will be a big hit with you. It has great sillage and longevity but price is quite high Brandy is much more affordable.

I'm not a big Bond fan and you may not want to spend the money but Bond No.9 New Harlem smelled great on me and was one of the best gourmands I had smelled.

It's chocolate and a bit of mint. for me, this is A*Men without the 5 hour wait for the hideous top notes to disappear. Give this a try.

Absolutely check out Dior Hypnotic Poison (as already suggested) - the bitter almond note keeps it from getting too sweet. Dior Homme is pretty good too. I'm not sure if Ava Luxe is fully operational again, but in the meantime try TPC for a sample of Ava Luxe Cafe Noir (coffee+spice)

I sampled A*Men Pure Coffee the other day, and it is outstanding. Dry on top; light and creamy in the base.

Jo Malone's Vanilla & Anise and Blue Agava & Cacao are two other very wearable favorites of mine.

My favorite gourmand is Bond no. 9's New Haarlem.

Rochas Man is a great one. But I find it somewhat similar to Cannabis Santal.

L'Instant gets a big thumbs up from me. As does Animale Animale.

It's important to know exactly what you are seeking. For example, Amour de Cacao is a very gentle but strong vanillic chocolate. I prefer Excess from Gendarme's Seven Deadly Sins series, because it's got a bit more "bite." The others (Rochas Man, Animale Animale men, Chinatown, A*Men) have a nauseating quality, especially after breathing them in for more than an hour or so.
