I made my first trip to the fashion district in LA in quite a while.

I scored a 3.4oz bottle of Christian Asdigier for Men for $35, a 3.4 oz bottle of Michael Kors for $25, and a 3.3 oz bottle of D & G The One for $38.

Not a bad haul for less than $100!

By the way. If anyone is interested, I saw a several gift sets of Dolce & Gabbana By Man with shower gel for $85 - $100

The scent grows richer, he knows he must be near
He finds a long passageway lit by chandelier
Each step he takes, the perfumes change
From familiar fragrance to flavours strange
A magnificent chamber meets his eye

I just HATE it when it happens!!!
You are very lucky that Dirty English is in production and the seller is good man. Good Luck with the second bottle, Royal!
(That happen to me once, when my tester of Kobe by Xerjoff was destroyed by post, and then sent again)

BUT - Imagine how it feels like, when bad packaging destroys something vintage, discontinued and hardly found! (((( Oh Lord!
I keep broken bottle of vintage Caron bottle - Bonheur - on my office table, just to smell it.
Another example was with fully leaked vintage bottle of Dans La Nuit by Worth... Half ounce of perfume - leaked!!!

Ones to further darken and add depth to my wardrobe:

    - Serge Lutens Muscs Koublaï Khän (always wanted to get this)
    - Nasomatto Black Afgano (resinous, dark, sticky, sweet.. this was what I wanted Serge Noire to be!)
    - Dior Eau Noire (yes, the 'black' theme does goes on.. )
    - ELDO Tom of Finland (soapy and aldehydic saffron laced with tight and shiny black leather)
    - ELDO Charogne (indolic rotten black erm.. white flowers... with candy-sweet oranger)
    - Tauer Lonestar Memories (tarry and smoky.. preferring this over LDDM)

I bought a new bottle of Bulgari Black at Perfumania-- it was on sale. The reason I bought it was because they finally changed the bottle design! I had two bottles of this before that I couldn't use because the spray-twist-cap design broke, thus trapping the juice in the bottle. The bottle now has a cap that pops off and a regular spray mechanism. I'm pissed at the money I threw away on the first two faulty bottles, but I'm just glad to have a bottle that works now.

Heads up to all Tommy T fans and/or Sam's Club members...

You won't believe this, but I bought two 100 mL bottles of (sadly now-discontinued) Tommy T from a display of assorted fragrances at the local Sam's Club for the unbelievably low price of $29.88 for the two-bottle pack. What... are the powers that be at 767 Fifth Avenue trying to clear out all remaining stock of Tommy T from the face of Planet Earth?

But seriously, Tommy T is a great casual scent. And if you have a Sam's Club membership, go check out the seasonal fragrance rack (not the normal fragrance display case near jewelry). Get some before it goes away forever...

(Notably, for all the 80s power scent fans, there was also a Giorgio for Men/Red for Men 3.3 oz combo pack for the same price. But I didn't buy it, as I already own both.)
    Top 5 for Fall:

At Jacqueline, here in downtown San Francisco:

    Amouage
    Lyric Man
    (2008)
    Spicy Oriental
    Daniel Visentin
    Top Notes: Bergamot, Lime
Middle Notes: Rose, Angelica, Orange Blossom, Galbanum, Ginger, Nutmeg, Saffron
Base Notes: Pine, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Musk, Incense

A rose is a rose, is a rose... but in this case, so much more than a rose! The spicy and oriental notes abound to escort and support the rich, pure Damask rose in this scent. Her only floral competition is orange blossom, and the rest of the spicy, resinous crew make her smell pretty green and just a little bit earthy. This is going to be a trip to wear!

I smelt this today after years of trying it before. It's actually quite a nice scent than what I remembered and I can still smell it on my sleeve. I remember it being a little short-lived. I would buy a bottle but I'm tight on cash (haven't bought a bottle in months) and I find it similar to Nostalgia.

    At Neiman's in San Francisco:

Guerlain Habit Rouge Eau de Parfum Édition Beau Cavalier

A very pretty silvery bottle with little logos all over it, but I can't seem to find out if the juice is the same as the 2003 EdP of Habit Rouge, or if it's been mystically transformed yet again. Anyway, it smells damned good. Here's the pyramid for the 2003 juice:

    Top Notes: Lime, Orange, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Neroli, Cinnamon, Cedar Wood
Base Notes: Leather Notes, Vanilla, Oud, Patchouli
    [from osmoz.com]

If anybody can tell me if this is any different in composition from the regular Habit Rouge EdP, I'd be most grateful!

    Jaime,

Congrats! Beautiful bottle - I called La Maison the other night and they told me that it was the same formula as the Habit Rouge EdP just in a limited edition bottle.

That particular SA had never heard of Habit Rouge Legere, though, so I'm not sure that information is 100% accurate. Either way, enjoy!!

That is a problem. I got a sample of this and really love it. So I just ordered a bottle from Amazon and if it is the older design, which I have not doubt it will be, I may need to return it. Could someone post or provide a link to an image of the spray-twist-cap design so I know what to look out for? Thanks.

Felt better than buying a "reject" from TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Sorry, but I'm still mad at myself for wasting so many dollars on those discount scents that I never even liked or kept, just because they were cheap. Talk about an expensive lesson learned. This is a personal philosophy, not judging anyone who still buys at those stores. To each his own. There were rare occasions, very rare, when a true gem would be hiding on those pilfered shelves.

When I first started collecting I fell into the "it's cheap at Marshalls what's the harm in buying it?" trap that so many fall into. I've finally sold and given away most of those bottles, though I think a couple ended up in the circular file. Of everything I've ever bought at Marshalls I have but one keeper (Hermes Kelly Caleche).... even the Armani Prives were sold off.

Purchased/received today - a partial bottle of Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles. Totally blind buy based on a recommendation. I'm enjoying this much more then the last few SL releases. Classic Lutens, that's for sure.
