Everyone smells just divine this morning! EL Knowing for me today, as it is finally chilly enough here to make me crave something warmer and bolder than my recent choices. Take care, all!

That's some kiss for a Monday morning, Roberto. Such a great B&W photo--the variety of stripes, the swirls in the fabric and Bacall's hair.

Mr. Mike, you've provided another form o' porn--plus teased us northerners with the sight of flowers.

Then there’s Mr. & Mrs. Twolf. Yep, better knit that fella some earflaps. (Funny, I never pictured Mr. T that short and pale.)

Spilt some Mitsouko yesters, so I've had enough of that for a while. For contrast, I'm sampling Bond’s Brooklyn. I didn't care much for this during a prior sniff, but darned if it is speaking to me today.

The grapefruit top note is just what I needed for a sluggish Monday morn--a bit of pleasant, bright smelling salts to open my eyes. An impetuous judgement (“masculine!”) sparked by the juniper note, is being pushed aside as I welcome the cardamom. I can enjoy this scent for a day. Not $-worthy, but Brooklyn deserves credit for working with my finicky skin and narrow preferences.

I can see where others might think this fairly pedestrian, but it's the kind of routine frag I hope the civilians (non-BNers) choose to wear.

Who gave me this sample--Ubu? Whoever, thank you. I needed something more than coffee for momentum.

It was Mr.S, or rather, Mr.S1 because there will more after him, I hope. If you want a picture of Mr.T I can post it too.

Lovethescents, Happy Birthday to your son, I adore Automne too.

Brooklyn must have come from Tao.

Donna Karan Gold edp for me today. I finally got around to making a selection. I'm in an introverted mood this morning - it's chilly and gray outside - but I wasn't sure what I wanted. Nothing gourmand. I was craving orange blossom but couldn't find anything in my stash to satisfy. I finally spontaneously settled on DK Gold, and it's perfect. Gorgeous in fact!

    Have a good day, all.

I asked my other half to pick out a scent for me to wear into town today, and he chose Guerlain Homme out of mischief, before complaining that it smelt rather butch on me!

Today is my 13th wedding anniversary! I'll have a nice SotE for hubby, perhaps a little Opponax Intense, since he seems quite fond of it....

but, for the day, I am in Original formulation Vent Vert parfum, with hints of No5 bath soap still clinging to my skin. Lovely and green for this clear fall day.

Twolf, you crazy critter! I like your snowman ~ even though I am not yet ready for those frosty flakes!

This mornings' wearing of Gypsy Water proved to be an utter disappointment...the name is too intriguing for such a weak & meaningless frag. Finally got a chance to re-spritz, so I chose to douse myself in the glorious 31 Rue Cambon. GORGEOUS! Now THIS is what I want to smell like!

Now I'm ready to post my SotD as I'm wearing four different By Kilian scents. Straight to Heaven, A Taste of Heaven, Cruel Intentions and Prelude to Love. I sniffed all of them including the two latest Back to Black and Pure Oud.
Kilian Henessy is a passionate friendly perfumer and it was interesting talking to him for about an hour this afternoon.
Pure Oud is the best of the bunch and I am tempted to buy a bottle of it.
Cruel Intentions is my second favorite and I did get a travel set of that one signed by Kilian. If I couldn't have the Pure Oud might as well have the one with oud in it.
Back to Black and Straight to Heaven are the next favorites both of them are solidly tobacco and rose centered scents respectively and I liked both of them.
Prelude to Love was a surprisingly good citrus scent which was surprising because of the other scents in the line as it seems almost out of place.
Love was a lot of fun as it is meant to evoke the flavor of a marshamallow although Kilian told us that it is one of the biggest sellers in the Middle East because it is also reminiscent of desert indigenous to that region of the world.
Beyond Love is a great tuberose and Kilian told us how he had to keep upping thepercentage of tuberose until there was enough to produce appropriate sillage.
Liaisons Dangereuse Was good but not great for me and the only one that didn't really sing for me.
I expected to like A Taste of Heaven more that I did and this might just be a caseof expectations being too high while i was being pleasantly surprised by the others which i thought i wouldn't like as much. The absinthe is good in it but I'm going ot have to give it another wear before I consign it to last place in the line.
Added bonus to the day was I bumped into Jarvis and he let me test a shot of two of the new Francis Kurkdjian scents; Lumiere Noir pour Femme and Cologne pour Le Soir. both of these are very good and I'm going to have to make an effort to seek these out. Thanks to Jarvis for the sniff, the company and the ride to the train.

I feel like crap, and in need of a comfort scent. So I went with Balmain's La Mome. And as much as I love it, I don't think it is agreeing with my headache. I should know better, but there you go.

WOLFIE!!! Luvved the pic of you and yer friend. Sitting on my porch in the high seventies I'm connecting with you and your ever-so-elegantly scarved Mr. S.

But Lightgreen's H U G E photo (which is a BEAUT) means I gotta scroll back and forth to read everything in each post! Gettin' bleary-eyed.

Will settle into the last drops of Laurence Dumont's Vanille Bourbon for bed.

Hi all! Checking in late. Happy Birthday to LittleLovetheScents, and Happy Anniversary to JustCallMeMo. May your headache go away and never return, Outlandish. And -- darn! -- it looks like I'm too late to see Twolf's photo (?).

My SotD has been Micallef Black Sea, from a sample. I am loving it, and learning that gaiac wood is a wonderful thing. For those who haven't tried this beauty, look at the interesting list of notes: pink peppercorns, cloves, cypress, cinnamon, gaiac, saffron, lily of the valley, carnation, sandalwood, cedar, incense, labdanum, vanilla.

Happy birthday to little Lovethescents!! 2 is such a cute age for a boy.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Mo

SMM, I am glad you had fun and enjoyed the scents. I own a bottle of Cruel Intentions and the travel set of Straight to Heaven. Love the Oud, but it does not love my wallet. Love is very nice on me. I bought a bunch of samples of Love and poured them into a nice atomizer. I am with you, my least favorite is Taste of Heaven.

Today the weather was cold for So Cal. When I left for work and when I came back home it was 63, yeah, go ahead, laugh. It is cold for So Cal., so I wore Hypnotic Poison and I even received a compliment (that never happens!)

No more headaches people, please!!! Good vibes from me to you.

Today I sampled Mark Buxton Around Midnight.

Cedar-base incense, not too weird for a day at work. Nothing too original, but nice.
