Default What is the impact of new regulations on non-European houses?

I ask because I was sampling Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver the other day, and I notice that the fragrance marketing material makes two very telling prominent claims. The "USA MADE FRAGRANCE" bit was all over the marketing materials that the SA had been given from Tom Ford, AND there were numerous mentions of "Strong notes including Oakmoss....."

Are the new EU regulations being subliminally hinted at, here....or am I way off base? (I seem to remember that it's an independent body that came up with oakmoss limits...my memory is foggy, here....) I just thought it was odd and interesting that Oakmoss, a note I had never heard of before I became a perfume nut, was being touted so strongly, and it always seemed to be paired with an assertion of the American manufacture of the perfume.

That is interesting. I would say it is unlikely to be coincidence.

Ya! Make in the U.S.A. where people are free to experience Oakmoss in all it's glory. Regulatons? we don't need no stinking regulations, just slap a disclaimer on the bottle but, we do need to start using the higher quality alcohol used in Europe. It's an eclectic thing. Sorry, I got a little carried away.
