Default Intuition for Men by Estee Lauder

Intuition for Men by Estee Lauder, is a scent no one ever talks about here on BN. In fact, I couldn't find a single thread on it.

From the list of notes (sage absolute, Cucumber, nutmeg, cardamom, patchouli, cedarwood, amber, myrrh & labdanum) it sounds like a men's oriental?

What do you guys think about it?

Mike,Now that you mention it, to my nose this is like a re-make of Nicole Miller for Men. The re- formulated version, lacks the depth of the original Nicole Miller for Men. I have never compared the pyramid of Intuition vs. the Nicole Miller creation, but these two do smell auwfully close to each other. They both have a spicy, boozy quality to them.

I've long owned Intuititon and find it fairly boring... it's pleasant enough but suffers from being a tad too generic, even with the promising pyramid. The opening is an ambery/apple accord which eventually melds into a fairly generic woody/amber, the only unique aspect of which is a hint of cedar that persists throughout the phases. I love Lauder fragrances but this is not their best effort. I'm glad to send anyone a sample (and my bottle if you really want it).

It is a nutmeg prominent fragrance, Mike. A nutmeg with a fresh and light powder feel to it. This is how it comes off to me. I'm sure if I tried hard, I could detect the other notes and I'm also sure the wood base contributes but the nutmeg is the star in this one. If you've ever smell Hypnose, I find these two fragrances very similar.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Haven't smelled it in a long time, but I remember it as a very transparent powdery-woodsy scent. Not exceptional but still quite nice!

It is a good scent actually.
In the BN databank there is a review that compares it to Allure and Hypnose (I think its by andrewthecologneguy and its here ) which is quite spot on. I really like Intuition, find it ALMOST bottle worthy and would purchase if I could find it as a bargain.
One of the better mens oreintals and easy to wear, I like the citrus opening and the general use of nutmeg.

I think that back when it came out that it seemed to be an obvious rip off of the then popular Chanel Allure Homme, but of lesser quality. This may be one reason why it never got mentioned much.
