I used to have a boss who LOVED it when I wore Encre Noire to work. He was a cool dude and he was kind of embarrassed to ask me about my cologne, but he thought Encre Noire was the best and boldest of all the colognes he'd ever smelled.

On the other hand, Avignon has received some nice feedback as well. And in my opinion it's even bolder than Encre Noire.

If you want to turn heads with something bold, check out Salvador Dali Pour Homme if you ever get a chance. It makes a very bold statement like sitting next to a roaring fireplace in some otherwise cold, dark scene out of Castlevania.

Avignon is the bolder option, IMO, though I like both scents.

Neither one of these has much projection (especially Avignon). You would have to wear quite a few sprays to have anyone more than an arms length away to be able to smell you.

    Boldest statement: Encre Noire
Best statement: Avignon (OK, so I'm biased ... )

    Bold? Layer them together.

    (ok, kidding...another vote for EN)

EN. Avignon is great (though I prefer Zagorsk in this line), but I'd have a hard time describing it as bold.

    Actually, both!

hmm, encre noire acts pretty weak on me. Even when sprayed on liberally.
I would go for Avignon, it's imo more of a scent to go out with.
I only wear encre noire on (semi)formal occasions.

I'm with Indie...wear Salvador Dali to REALLY make a statement.

    Absolutely....

No one can detect Encre Noire when I wear it so it's hard to imagine how it can make a bold statement....but I guess Encre Noire obviously lasts and projects a lot on others....If you are one of them then go for it...

Making a statement != fumigation. Especially when it comes to the Ink bottle. Spray it three or four times, get noticed. Spray it seven or eight, get evicted.
