Very nice review, SMM. I enjoyed the one on Havana as well.
Thread: Kenzo Power Cologne- my review
Kenzo has released the first flanker of Power called Kenzo Power Cologne.
I just reviewed it here:
If the floral aspects of Kenzo Power didn't excite you this is worth a try.
Olivier Polge sort of did a perfume mash-up by taking some of the notes from Power and imposing them on a traditional eau de cologne construction. Like musical mash-ups it comes out better than it sounds.
More writing on fragrance by me to be found at http://www.cafleurebon.com/
Fantastic review! I'm very eager to try this one now
The bottle really looks good and from your review I am really itching to test this frag out.

I really, really like the original so I can't wait to try this... Your review makes me want to try it even more!

Well, thank you for answering many of my questions on it: it sounds promising. Thanks a lot!
Awesome review, Mark! I really appreciate the way you dig into the structure of the thing. And the surprising longevity - wow! I do NOT need another fleeting EdC - I went nutty on them this summer, and the love fest is over. But this one sounds like it could be worth it. I'm a big fan of Power, so damn it. I will have to check this out, and with my history regarding any fragrance with the word "Polge" in its vicinity, a possible buy. Curses!
You know, Kenzo just does good flankers. I'm wearing L'Eau par Kenzo PH Indigo today, and I'm loving it. The spicy take on LEPK is just great. So I think he must be a stickler on making sure that the quality is there before the name goes on.
Again, great review!

Excellent review, SMM. I'm a fan of Power and have been impressed with many of Kenzo offerings. And your review only makes me itch to compare the 2.
Thanks for review , now I'm looking forvard to try this one..
I'm glad to hear that this flanker can stand on its own... I'm a big fan of the original, and can't wait to take this one for a spin... Anyone have an idea when this will be released in the states??
Another Polge fan here. Thanks for a great review, will have to get this one too.

So has anyone seen this in a store in the US?
I don't know about US, but I can't find it anywhere in Singapore, even at the Kenzo counters. Is it a limited edition I wonder?
I am really excited to smell this one, as the floral aspects of Power were not my favorite.
Do you know if it's available in Canada yet ?
Ok, I have tried this cologne yesterday... there's something amazing about it... very very sophisticated... I always wanted to smell as a rough man, kind of macho ) and never realy took seriously such a flowery scents... but I was possibly wrong about that... Does your cologne make you a different person ?... just in a sense... and just your mind... I guess.. Why abandone those wonderful sophisticated flowery colognes ?... This Kenzo Power Cologne smells success and adventures... I am getting ready for this cologne...

Maybe it wasn't a US release?? It was (supposedly) launched in 2009...
I had a sample in July 2009 and at first try I found it a bit too flowery for my taste.
I tried it again a week ago and this time the flower part was not disturbing and not at all dominant, actually it's well blended and it evolves quite well on the skin. It's a winner for sure !
I'm looking for one more unique spring/summer scent and considering buying a bottle of this cologne version.
My question is: Will this be overpowering if worn in the hot summer weather?
Thanks in advance.
Still haven't gotten to try this one. If it's only available at high end boutiques, then I probably won't be able to. If anyone could point me in the direction of a sample, that'd be great. When I Google "Kenzo Power Cologne", it comes up as just the normal Kenzo Power. Because it's a man's fragrance, which then obviously means it's a cologne.
Thanks and nice review!
I like the original but felt it lacked in the sillage and longevity departments. Is this flanker stronger in both aspects?
No, it's just less powdery and more interesting.
We want a niche forum.
tried the cologne version today. they're both good. the top notes i liked in power seem to last longer in the cologne version. i do get higher sillage with the cologne as well but they're both pretty mild scents. since i love them both it boils down to availability/ price. i can get a tester of power for around $35-40 and i'll check this weekend but i'm guessing power in the grey market is not far from the tester price. i have not seen power cologne in the grey market yet though. it retails for much cheaper that power edt so it must be even greater value. i'd be willing to pay retail for power cologne though if it never hits the grey market.

Does anyone know if the cologne version is available in any major department store in the U.S.? Or is it only available on Kenzo's website?
I love this one.. truly uniqe
Just received my bottle of this and also a sample of the original Kenzo Power. I'm doing a side by side comparison of the two, and the cologne version is actually spicier than the original, with a combination of some citrus -- giving it a ginger note vibe. So far, I like the original better.
Finally was able to try this one. Smelled like rotten flowers on my skin; it's lighter than the original, but not really "fresh". Maybe it's my skin chemistry.
I, too, prefer the original. At least it had that creamy powdery facet to mask the smell of wilted flowers...
