    Musc Ravageur (Frédéric Malle)

Starts potent but gets softer. Very expensive, however. Check out the reviews.

Or Kiehls Original Musk. Not as good as Musc Ravageur (still very darn good, though) but infinitely more affordable.

I'd classify heritage as soft for me. and it does last long and even survives baths.

Are you looking for something more masculine or feminine?

In the feminine ring - Clair de Musc is my favourite.

musc Ravageur is lovely, but quite strong at least in my opinion.A soft, low silage scent with long lasting power non the less is For her by Narciso Rodriguez.

Moschino "Uomo?" It's a woody floral musk, which I've sampled just once, but found to be soft and longevity will be better than you're seeking.

You should try Guerlain's parfums/extraits (Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue, etc...). They are never overwhelming, blend nicely with your skin and sure last all day.

Another one I can think of is Nasomatto White Musk, which is also an extrait.

I find that most fragrances with a dominant amber note tend to be soft and long lasting on my skin. Many have musky notes as well, as the two notes harmonize nicely. Try Serge Lutens Amber Sultan, that one sticks with me for a very long time.

Ava Luxe is now producing all fragrances as oils, which are by their nature very long lasting. My favorites are Opponax Extreme (incense, leather, and amber) and No 23 (Sandalwood). Love's True Bluish Light (vanilla and musk) is very popular here, as well.

Annick Goutal's Musc Nomade is light and a little milky. A nice combination of rose, white musk and some warm incense.

Edit: I definitely get at least 4-5 hours.

Un Air D'Arabie Musk is a nice soft musk I have recently discovered.

Bois d'Argent: cloud-like softness with a light, subtle musk and 10+ hours of longevity.

Another suggestion could be The Body Shop White Musk: smooth and fresh clean musk, subtle yet lasting, affordable but far more characterful than one could expect from an easily available mid-price (or even bargain) musk.

I've been on a musk crusade lately, trying as many as I can. They are all listed above by other contributors. My personal favourite is Musc Nomade but it's expensive. A little different, a perfume that is musky, is Habanita L'Esprit. The bottle is swoon worthy. At the online discounters.

A very reasonable (read cheap) one is Jovan White Musk for Men - better than it's price point for sure.

Haha, it's just as well we're all different, my husband used degreaser to get rid of a spray sample of Jovan Musk for men and just about throws up every time he walks past the stand in the Warehouse where it is sold. We were seventies hippies, you'd think he would love it. Is there two? I mean, is there a separate white musk for men and a plain musk? Could explain.

yeah, the Jovan White Musk for Men is quite different from the Jovan Musk For Men, and though I do like it (the Musk for Men) and wear it now and then I know it can be one of those love/hate things for most people
