    Question Perfect Everyday Frag

    Hi,

Im looking for a fragrance that is sharp and crisp like how the weather is here in Ireland this
time of year. Something that will enhance my overall cleanliness especially after I have a
shower and shave and that will last right through the morning to early afternoon. Does this
    make sense?

    Currently I have:

    Aqua Di Gio
    B*men
    Boss Bottled
    Christian Dior Homme Intense EDP
Guerlain L'Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme EDP
    La Male
    Pi
    Ultraviolet Man
    Issey Miyake Intense (sample)
    Allure Homme Sport (sample)

Is it just me or do most of them seem to be sweet, I want something more sharp but not too
sharp im not sure what notes would be needed for this...

Maybe I need to get more samples to be sure I pick the right thing before I go off blind buying
    again.

    Any Ideas?

If you want a combination of a sharp, yet sweet scent then I think you'll enjoy Geir. It's quite good as an every day scent for any of the seasons. Another suggestion would be YSL - Live Jazz.

A sharp scent that is not even as sweet as those would be something like Neroli Sauvage by Creed or Colonia Assoulta by AdP, if my memory serves me correctly.

You might try Rive Gauche Pour Homme Yves Saint Laurent. It has a nice, clean, barbershop (well, American barbershop, anyway) scent that is appropriate morning, noon, and night. If you're looking for clean, sharp citrus, I'd go with either Acqua di Parma Colonia. Finally, good old Habit Rouge, in the eau de cologne strength is worth a sniff. All of these are "classic" fragrances, so hopefully others can recommend more modern options.

EnvYus, I don't really think of Geir as sharp. In fact, it seems quite sweet to me. Not a bad thing per se, but I don't see it falling into the "sharp" category. It's certainly clean, though; no argument there.

I also second the Rive Gauche recommendation.

Well, it's the second time I've recommended it today (I feel like a cheerleader...), but I think Guerlain Vetiver would be perfect.
Sharp, clean, classy and long lasting. Good for winter or summer.
    Go team!

    Another vote for Rive Gauche

also adding Chanel pour Monsieur (you might also like to experiment with the EdP version)
    Monsieur de Givenchy
    Boucheron PH
    Hugh parsons Yellow
the initial (green) Polo, but also its various flankers, sequels and variations might do the trick too
    Opus 1870 by Penhaligons

Oops, I did it again, just went and bought m7 online :S

Will be looking for sample of most of the ones you guys have recommended, I really must stop with the sweet stuff and be more open minded about other types of frags.

    Thanks again you guys!

    Creed Green Irish Tweed.

It is still a little sweet to help you wean off the sweetness, but nothing major. It is fresh and crisp and clean smelling, a bit of green in there, and a great daily scent.
WTT: Creed SMW for Creed GIT.

I also agree with the recommendation of Guerlain Vetiver. I would also check out Hermes Rocabar. It is a good one.

If you want sharp, I would suggest Encre Noire. It has a certain sharpness to it, but I think it's very agreeable for everyday wear.

For clean, how about one of the Gendarmes? Or perhaps Paco Rabanne?

    Also agree on the Prada.

+ 1 on Green Irish Tweed.

The most sharp and crisp scent I can think of though is Silver Mountain Water.

For seriously "sharp" and "crisp" - Monotheme Scottish Lavender. However, it's not as long-lasting as you're looking for

For a bright clear day, I'd go with MPG's Centaure or Garrigue, or Creed's Cypres-Musc over Green Irish Tweed. Eau Sauvage or Acqua di Parma Colonia could be good choices, too.

The GIT, SMW, Guerlain Vetiver suggestions are great.

Have you tried Allure homme edition blanche? IMO, it is much better than the original Allure homme or the sport version.

Another vote for Guerlain Vetiver - you really can't go wrong.

The Mugler Cologne wouldn't be out of the question either.

Mugler Cologne is perfect because it is both bright and fresh, and perhaps crisp without any risk of being offensive.

Another vote for Mugler, GV, AdP. Add Eau Sauvage or Paul Smith Story or Extreme.
Your nostrils, which will dilate immesurably in unspeakable contentment, in motionless ecstasy, will ask nothing better for space, for they will be full of fragrance, as if perfumes and incense; for they will be glutted with complete happiness, like angels who dwell in the peace and magnificence of pleasent heaven.

I would recommend a vetiver also.
Creed SMW and Himalaya would be good too.

Versace PH is my go-to scent. Citrus, clary sage, cedar and oud. Very fresh and aromatic, crisp and clean, but with wonderful depth, development and longevity.

    Sample Diptyque Tam Dao.

Mugler Cologne is my everyday goto fragrance, but now that it's getting colder I'm shifting towards the Diptyque. And it does last - just spray close to your skin.
Looking for a sample of Gucci Envy Me.
