Safran Troublant. Love the name, love the smell. Fits the cold but sunny outside world perfectly. Still never ceases to amaze me that it has roses - AND I like it! Me, the rose-hater.
Fleurry, thanks for your impressions! Sounds yum.
    Baldufita, hope you're recovering ok.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.

I got up at 3:00 a.m. this morning to watch the Leonids meteor shower (yes, I'm a nutso geek). I stayed outside for about half an hour, but it was too cloudy in the right section of the sky to see anything. Phooey.

    Hi, gang!

Inspired by Haunani and the "No repeat November" team, I am wearing the beautiful L'Eau d'Italie Sienne l'Hiver.

Chanel Bel Respiro today....In my long list oif Galbanumy greens, I'd say that this one is very similar to No19 and VentVert (2nd), but with the floral notes replaced by lemons. Bright and fresh, but not too sharp to my nose. On the downside, I applied about 90 minutes ago, and it's already almost gone. I'll put it with my beloved Eau de Guerlain in the land of "enjoy the freshness before it's gone...Too late!"

Good morning, fabulous ones. [Dashing around to give you each a kiss á là duck-duck-goose.]

Going for No-Repeats Nov/Dec! Today: Caldey Island Lavender
Upon application, it smells like I just stepped out the front door and rolled around in my lavender plant. Now 20 min. in, I'm getting Jicky-like vibes as it heats on the skin. The one scent DD has indicated liking is lavender, so I'll have to wave this under her nose.
Thought lavender the right choice for today's project: taking the big bedspread to the laundromat. Thank you, Riannon, for sending a scent that doesn't see this side of the Atlantic very often.

Wishing thoughts of comfort for Baldufita.
Would have liked to strain my neck with you last night, Lilybelle, but it was cloudy here.

Lovethescents, puzzling over the A & W reference.

Me, I am in Magnolia Nobile, which gets less shampoo-y as it goes on. I do like this one, though I understand those who don't.

Also testing Idylle again which is indeed like NR for Her though I didn't see it to start with!

And trying Parisienne again too, which smells like disgruntled purple talc. There is an underlying angry note there for sure, in so far as powder can emote.

HAHAHAH! Genius! (I don't agree, but brilliant description ).

Taolady - that sounds like it could be Jardins de Bagatelle... or any number of scents actually, but that's the first one that popped in my head from your description

Well, as it happens I'm also sampling Guerlain Idylle again today. Thought what the heck. Sampling was also a good way to break my strong cycle of scents.

Estee Lauder Youth Dew edp in the blue bottle for me today but only after playing with Bella.

Sofie woke me at 4 am, "Mom, the kitten is crying. I don't know what to do." So, she cuddled the girl & I fed her. She's still quite shy, spending most of her time in the crate with her racoon toy & the door open.

Poor Ineespenes! I would be so sad without the sunshine...it used to bum me out when I lived in a place where the sun went down at 4 in the winter (never mind sun setting for months!). I hope you find many things to keep you warm and high-spirited....

Today WILL be a better day. I've dusted myself off (sort of) and put on a bit of

Chanel No. 19 in parfum (actually, went a little nuts on the application...so I think there's a little waft of green floral that trails me...)

Therese, I'm sorry to hear about bad news, but you definitely have your priorities right. It's hard to remember all the good news in this economy, but it's so important to. Hugs to you, as well as anyone else who needs them.

Chaya, "I love you like cheese" says it all. I'd append, "I love you like cheese and chocolate."

I love the idea of "no repeat November." I'm joining in late, but what the heck.

Nuka, nice guess on the mystery fragrance, but it's not JdB.

All Repeats November here: Franck Olivier.

No sun in IN? Weird, we are all sunny and bright here, one state over.

Brielle, how is your restup? Feeling any better?

My Cabochard was fading...so I needed a SotE....

Fits the bill...also, it transitions quite harmoniously from the Cabochard. These two fragrances are far too assertive to layer immediately, but they make for a nice daily wardrobe shift, with the backround notes of both fragrances playing nicely together. I heartily recommend a one/two punch of Cabochard/Ivoire (in either order) for those looking for a duo to alternate for day and evening.

My SotD was the glorious Chanel Les Exclisiv's Sycomore. Truly inspiring... green, sandalwood-sweet and sexy-smoky. Thank you J. Polge!

Tonight...on a whim I put on Serge Lutens Douce Amere, which I usually wear in the Spring, where lightly sweet, green and mossy notes swirl from my skin, in such a beautiful, earthy way. But tonight,in cold November weather, I was completely blown away with such different notes...warm, creamy vanilla and anise...this made me absolutely swoon!

    MMMmmmmm.

    Good evening all.

So much for my day of rest. Once again i did chores all day; 5 loads of laundry, cleaning, cleaned kitties' water fountain and many other essential things. Really wish i could just find one day to lay around and do absolutely not a thing.

Chaya lovey, what changes are occurring? Regardless of scent you are you. You are as recognizable as Liz Taylor, just as striking also. xoxo Love you back like Tomme de Savoie, now that is serious enjoyed the sweet video also.

Ines, it was funny reading your post; you mentioned feeling like a zombie; at this moment hubby is playing his new zombie game, "Left for Dead II". I really hope you are not walking around feeling like "that" Wish i could send some sunny days your way.

I do hope Mira and Dimitri are doing well, healing vibes on the way.

Baldufita, do hope you are healing up fine.

Therese, i do hope no matter what may be going on in your world, the positiveness will make it all right. You do have things prioritized perfectly, good for you.

Today i wore the new Helena Rubenstein scent Wanted again. I love the scent, yet i dislike this very chemical-like undertone. This chemically smell becomes more prevalent as scent wears and also when i start bathing. I do not know why but as i shower the chemical drydown smell seems to intensify as i am bathing myself. I find this chemical not in many modern scents, especially in the drydowns. Wish i knew what it was.

Tonight i decided to go for a vintage scent, sans the chemical note. I chose vintage Memoire Cherie by Elizabeth Arden, which is a rich and sumptuous floral bouquet. Such a great fragrance.

Take care all, love and hugs.
