Question Which Guerlain Eau Would You Get?

I am thinking of getting a traditional Guerlain Eau. I was wondering whether you would get Eau du Coq, Imperiale, or Fleurs de Cedrat and why. I already have Eau de Guerlain and while it is great, I do not consider it a traditional cologne. Any help would be, well, helpful.

I have and wear Imperiale and though my next purchase would be Eau de Guerlain, I also adore Fleurs de Cedrat as one of the brightest, "cleanest" citruses out there. Imperiale is wonderful as well, but it does have a heavy verbena note in it that I'm often not in the mood for.

    Imperiale.
Despite it's awful longevity, it is top 3 EDC scents IMO.
I only wish they made an "Imperiale Concenrtre"

I have tried Imperiale and it is quite nice, but very fleeting. I like the lime blossoms and I think there is a hint of tonka in the heart. Fleurs de Cedrat smells like Country Time lemonade to me and lasts for thirty seconds. I think Eau de Coq is the strongest and lasts the longest except it is the most brash. I am leaning towards Imperiale--and hey, it's the cheapest one!

Any other thoughts? Specifically on Imperiale?

Imperiale is fantastic. It's just good to have around, bad longevity is also kind of a bonus, you can freshen up and apply another scent later in the day for example. Of all my fragrances, I spray it the most. It serves for me a different purpose compared to some longer lasting and fuller citrus scents, such as Acqua di Parma Colonia or Trumper's GFT.

    Eau de Guerlain
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Imperiale is fantastic, for the brief amount of time it lasts.

One more vote for Imperiale - "simply the best, better than all the rest..."

Eau de Cologne du Coq is my favorite of the Guerlain EDCs that I have tried. Imperiale is too fleeting for me. Eau de Guerlain, has better longevity, but interests me less. I still need to try Fleurs de Cedrat.

Of "tradtional" EDCs Eau du Coq is my second favorite, next to Acqua di Parma Colonia. I really love it.

Eau du Coq is my second favourite, too.

Eau Imperiale kind of has a refreshing gin and tonic feel to it or perhaps vodka and tonic--nice and dry.
Your nostrils, which will dilate immesurably in unspeakable contentment, in motionless ecstasy, will ask nothing better for space, for they will be full of fragrance, as if perfumes and incense; for they will be glutted with complete happiness, like angels who dwell in the peace and magnificence of pleasent heaven.

Eau du Coq is my favorite - I imagine so because I love lavender and rosemary. It's not as refreshing as the other colognes, but still incredibly fresh and invigorating on a hot day. It's a light and transparent lavender over a bit of musk and herbs.

What do you think of the cedar and tonka in Imperiale?

I adore Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat. i find it to be an absolutley sublime Eau; not only is it refreshing and sparkling, but it has great longevity for an Eau. My next favorite is Eau du Coq, followed by Imperiale. I never warmed up to Eau de Guerlain, do not know why, but it just seemed too involved for an Eau.

They are all worth having in a wardrobe but Eau de Guerlain is the most substantial and long lasting.
