Oh how I long for hair!! A good old pair of clippers is all I use. I've had an ongoing balding problem for a number of years now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better!

Luckily men's hair products have come a long way in the last 30 years. I had a friend growing up that used to put lard and vaseline in his hair. It was really nasty.

I use Nivea Creme Gel I get from Europe and L'Oreal Homme Professionel Matt. Does the job for me.

I'm growing my hair after having had it short for many years (being pressured into it by the gf lol). So far I'm using Palmer's. I can kinda smell it though, and whilst not necessarily a bad smell, it's perhaps not ideal. It was more of a random purchase in a shop nearby.

I've been on the search for the best water based pomade..... but I think that I actually prefer the old petroleum based/wax based pomades. Dax Wave & Groom is probably the best performing product for me..... but it DOES NOT wash out. You have to get used to it being in there..... unless you do the whole vegetable oil wash or apple cider rinse thing. Schmiere Rumble 59 Hard Pomade is another great one.... and it washes out a little better.... but costs three times as much as Dax W&G.

Even when I use these heavy pomades, I usually add a little bit of a water based product in as well to give my hair a little more flexibility. They make it easier to run a comb through.... and make my hair lay down a little better. I have thick, fine hair that stands up on it's own..... so I need no lift. I'm a side part combover/slick back/business pomp style.... so I don't like the messy sticking up look.

I prefer all Redken products especially the Rewind 06. Extremely fine styling product but it needs a little bit more work as it is not wax. It is very flexible and if you want something like Jay Gatsby from the Great Gatsby, this is the one. Best w a hairdryer

For me, it's Bumble & Bumble Sumotech. I have shorter hair, and this stuff is perfect in that it's not waxy, stays matte, and controls well.

This is going to sound strange to a lot of people but l use body lotion in my hair, and it works wonders. I have thick straight hair that I slick back. It hold my hair perfectly and its not sticky or heavy like gels. I use the lubrederm lotion they have at Costco. I have been using this for years now and I am so happy with it.
