    Default Which perfume are you?

I though I might borrow this idea from NST .
Which perfume characterizes your personality and define who you are?

For me, I guess it would be Iris Pallida, or in general, iris fragrances. First, let me start by describing my personality. I'm a very hard person to get to know. I'm very shy, quiet and awkward most of the time around people I haven't met or haven't gotten a chance to know well. But, I am completely different around my closest of friends and family; spontaneous, loud, goofy and fun (well, that's what I think ). People who first meet me think I'm stuckup and boring; but that's just my personality. I don't open up to people I've just met, except in very rare occasions in which I feel a spark between us. I picked Iris Pallida because when you first smell it, you smell the dryness, the transparency and some might even call it boring. But once you wear it, you begin to envelope in its buttery, dry richness that evokes a magical feel around you. It slowly unfolds and once you get to know the scent, it's completely addictive!

Angel men would be mine. It is loud and in your face. You may be offended by the burt smell, or me because I tent to be forward and honest, maybe a bit too blunt sometimes. I soften up when you get to know me and I am on the sweeter side with a bit of dark underlying tones.

The one that immediately springs to mind is Swiss Army.

There are the obvious superficial reasons - it's an outdoorsy brand and I am an outdoorsy person; I like green scents; et cetera - but also, it's rather utilitarian and versatile. It's neither very loud nor very quiet. It's not flamboyant and often flies under the radar. It's far from an icon of perfumery, but it doesn't embarrass itself either. It's approachable but does not pander, and is, of course, dashingly attractive.

A couple of years ago there was a "Match the basenoter with a scent" thread and when I read Magnifiscent's post in which he matched me with PJ, I said "BINGO!"

Maybe DKNY Men... cold, grey and nondescript?

Armani Eau PH (1984)- conservative, restrained, a bit too formal and too serious, yet also very fond of luxury

Closely followed by either Chanel Antaeus or Blenheim Bouquet or Knize Ten- three different ways to express the same passion for the finer things in life

I would be Chanel No. 5: unconventional, fashion-conscious yet unique. Realising that underneath it all, art and fashion are artifice. (Using aldehydes was a bow to the artifice of fashion.)

Hmmm I'd say polo sport? Since I do enjoy doing sports a whole lot - I play a lot of soccer, 4 times a week usually. Polo sport seems to smell and represent the word sport(y) really well, IMO, fresh and invigorating.

    I love these!!

Well, I'dI like to imagine I am like Houbigant Apercu: abstruse/ even offensive to some, a throwback yet cutting-edge, well-formed, honorific of tradition, individualistic, unapologetic, refined, and not without flourish. Maybe a little .

Vetiver and Habit Rouge - in terms I consider myself a fogey.

Now, I can't find one in terms of other personality traces: frank, to your face, sometimes honest to the point of being tactless, sarcastic and ironic. With a high resistance to physical pain, an amateur wrestler, boxer and fencer. I guess this would be Kouros.

I am tough, imaginative, crazy, ambiguous, sharp, tender, misterious, friendly, outdoorsy, bold and creative

Believe it or not, at the end of the day I quite like Kouros.
When I am all by myself I love Live Jazz - almost a philosophy to live by.
And if I had to live with 1 perfume on a desert island: Eau Noire, c'est moi ! All we need is a big tree to give us shadow and a moderate climate. Sun and Eau Noire don't match, I would say.
