Default You can't smell it but EVERYONE ELSE CAN! Irritating much?

So I've noticed when wearing Lexington Avenue, West Side, and Virgin Island Water that they smell frickin amazing but maybe they don't have the best longevity TO ME, BUT while passing other people, women especially, they stop me maybe 5 hours in wearing the fragrance when I think it's completely gone and compliment me on how amazing I smell. I'm like. " It's still there?!"

I would never part with those three frags as I love their scent but do you find it somewhat irritating that you can't smell it but others can? Shows me how much I know about longevity. VENT WITH ME!

I've always had this happen with TdH. In the beginning I was smothering myself with it - cue watering eyes and the ladies saying, "Phew, it's nice, but a bit strong!"

I tempered my application eventually, and still get plenty of positive comments, even though I appear to have been rendered olfactorily blind to it :/

It happens to me a lot.

I go scent blind to much of what I wear.

One trick an SA told me works sometimes-- put a little on the back of your neck.

I actually compliment many people at work and they all mostly say, "Oh thanks,I can't smell it anymore"
Your nostrils, which will dilate immesurably in unspeakable contentment, in motionless ecstasy, will ask nothing better for space, for they will be full of fragrance, as if perfumes and incense; for they will be glutted with complete happiness, like angels who dwell in the peace and magnificence of pleasent heaven.

I think it has to do also with what is known as "Olfactory Fatigue", look it up

It helps not to spray too close to your nose. Try spraying your upper back instead of your neck, for example. The idea is that if it's very close to your nose your gog will get bombarded with scent molecules constantly and will stop registering it. If the molecules originate from farther away they will not hit your nose constantly which helps prevent olfactory fatigue.

There is one thing I do not understand when it comes to olfactory fatigue:

Why certain fragrances you get it a lot sooner then others for example:

Silver mountain Water and L'instant EDP Extreme, and Opium PH EDP or Tom Ford Tobacco Vanilla, I can smell all day with no fatigue without having to even put my nose to my wrist

but majority of my other perfumes I can barely smell even if they are there all day like Straight to Heaven for example

Has anyone tried smelling coffee into the day to try relieve the olfactory fatigue?

Olfactory fatigue is the bane of my life ......just have to switch up your fragrance as soon as you feel you don't smell it anymore.

What about iso super e? Supposedly 50 % of people its some kind of aphrodisiac (the other 50 % cant really smell it at all and i'm afraid i might be part of the unlucky group).
I dont know whether its part of the effect thats discussed here but the fragrances might consist to a good part of this stuff?

Iso E Super is weird isn't it ? I am not sure which group I fit into but when I tried Molecule 01 , I got whiffs of woody velvet now and then but it was frustrating . Cartier Declaration has a lot of Iso E Super ...quite a few scents have it as an ingredient so maybe,timaru......

This may sound counterintuitive, but try wearing less of the fragrance and apply it to your mid-chest or lower, only. Do not apply to your neck, cheeks, behind the ears, on your wrists or forearms, etc.

This has worked for many people. It's worth a shot, isn't it?

Doesn't bother me at all that others notice it but I might not.
