Default Best tea note scents (also Gucci PH-II vs. Bvlgari Black)

Well I tried Gucci PH-II recently, and I found it really really intriguing. The most striking thing was the tea note, which was something really different. It gives a really relaxing incense-type feeling which I haven't had from any of my scents so far, so it's something i'd like to pursue further, but would like a few suggestions as to the best tea note scents available.

I've been meaning to try Bvlgari Black for quite a while now, and I understand it also has a strong tea note, but can never find it in stores, so haven't had the chance to test it yet. How does it compare to Gucci PH-II?

I don't count SMW as a tea scent, nor do I count Tea for Two (which smells like Equipage to me)
Believe it or not, the tea scent I liked the most was a cheapie...a super cheap cheapie.
Like the Bowling Green of tea leaf scents LOL
just smelled very light and fresh of a big pile of dried tea leaves.

"Bvlgari eau Parfumee au Thé Blanc" and "...au Thé Vert" are the two main "in your face" tea scents in the Bvlgari line.
Olivier Durbano's "Jade" is also a great green tea and mint fragrance.
And, even though its not listed in the pyramid, Burberry London PH also has a black-tea vibe, to my nose.

Have you tried Bvlgari pour Homme? IMHO, it's an excellent interpretation of the Darjeeling tea by Jacques Cavallier.

Burberry for Men (old London) has very nice and strong tea note.

Bvlgari Black smells harsh and kinda rubbery. After it dries down a bit, which seems to take waay too long, it doesn't smell bad. But it cannot be compared to the awesome GPH2. Not many can.

I haven't yet tried Thé Blanc or Thé Vert but, I've also found Thé Rouge to be quite a nice tea scent as well. I get much more of a heavy tea note from Thé Rouge then Gucci PH II.

Black doesn't make me think of tea at all though if you look for it the note is there. The other notes override it for me. It's quite nice though.

Tea for Two has a very similar tea note that gives that "incense-type feeling". If you like Gucci II I think you'll like it too.

Bulgari PH or PH Extreme have tea notes which are also nice but not as sweet, more dry.

Bulgari The Rouge smells like straight up black tea leaves and is quite nice. I haven't tried the Blanc or the Vert.

+1 Bvlgari PH. The first tea scent I fell in love with.

+1 Tea for Two. This is a very good tea scent.

    Another vote for Harmatan Noir.

And also Parfumerie Generale L'Eau Rare Matale.

Hermessence Osmanthe Yunnan, though it's really more a floral.

ElizabethW Sweet Tea, though I think it's marketed as a feminine.

L'Artisan Parfumeur The Pour Un Ete.

Lorenzo Villoresi Yerbamate. Plenty of spices and hay, though; it's not mainly tea.

    L'Occitane's Bergamot Tea.

I read Le Labo Patchouli 24 as tea. In fact, I read it as more tealike than most "tea" fragrances. This probably casts serious doubt on my nose.

In about two days, I'll have an opinion on Commes Des Garcons: Leaves: Tea.

I love Tea For Two, but I think of it more as spice cookies with a side of tea, than tea.

I love CB I Hate Perfume's tea note. I've mostly had it in Tea/Rose, plus I tried the accord. I plan to get around to trying all of his perfumes that have tea in the description.

Duel by Annick Goutal says "tea" to me.

If you like your tea slightly spicy - then YSL's Elle is the fragrance for you.

I agree! Herbissimo Te Verde is a very nice tea scent. Very relaxing and fresh. The other Herbissimo fragrances are nice too, especially Herbissimo Mejorana- a very fresh woods scent.

I like Bvlgalri (haven't tried the black) which has a strong Darjeeling tea note to my nose, but can get a little cloying at times. I sampled Bvgari Green Tea once and it was pretty similar to Herbissimo, but a little more florals.

+1 for TEA by CdG. But, a warning: it is very, very dark and needs a thin lightly sprayed application or it can go "event horizon" and swallow itself up from within.

Also, +1 for Bulgari pour Homme - nice fresh light tea scent.

L'Occitane do a green tea line which consists of straight green tea, green tea with mint and green tea with jasmine. All very good tea notes. There is an older The Vert, which predates the current green tea and is slightly different, but it's hard to find. Bergamot Tea, which someone else mentioned, is also good but I personally don't find the tea note to be all that strong - I believe it's only meant to be a carrier note to prolong the bergamot.

Ava Luxe do some great tea frags and, as has been mentioned, Comme des Garcons have a couple. They're very unusual and an acquired taste - they're not for me.

It's not anywhere in the notes, but I've had several Japanese people tell me that L'Artisan's Piment Brûlant smells EXACTLY like green tea (matcha).

Costume National Scent Intense has this sweet, creamy tea note BUT it comes with the addition of amber, whether you like it or not

Thanks. Lots of great info here. This is one of my weakest areas of appreciation. I'll definitely test Tea for Two, Palais Jamais, Bvlgari's Au The Rouge (i adore roobios), and CN's Scent Intense. I did not like Gucci PH2 at all, but will give it another shot (it wasn't the tea note, I just thought it was super weak and too light, but resampling has often changed my mind) and I adore Bvlgari Black. I need to do a full wearing before buying, but the tea did not jump out among all the rubber-tar-vanilla. Definitely one of the most interesting scents I've sampled.

I just have this great childhood memory of being sick with a cold or something and my mom making creamy, sugary cambric tea. very cozy and comforting.
