I imagine these hair scents are very similar to some 'alcohol-free' fragrances that were sometimes released in the past. My favourite was Dior Dune Brume Parfumee which I much prefer to the 'tipsy' version; I have a bottle and cherish it a lot. Serge Lutens also had a 'Fond de Parfum' formula in frosted glass bottles. Lancaster had an alcohol free version of their 'Sunwater' perfume, with their main advertising point being that alcohol free fragrances don't cause as much hyperpigmentation when you sunbathe. Whether that is true I don't know, but some essential oils in a fragrance may cause issues with skin becoming more photosensitive.

For niche, Frederic Malle makes a Carnal Flower hair mist, and Byredo has some in their more popular offerings (Gypsy Water and Bal d'Afrique I think).

For designer, Mugler has hair scents for Alien and Angel, Narciso Rodriguez for his eponymous scent, and Dior makes one for J'Adore and Miss Dior.

Some brands have had these for years, not widely available though.

As Nastha says alcohol free and they do not last long. I never fancied spraying anything on my hair, even hairspray makes me itch.

I use only FREDERIC MALLE CARNAL FLOWER. It gives such a good smell to my hair.

I am a long hair enthusiast. Doing a "bun drop" and spreading wafts of perfume is an incredibly dreamy concept for me. But so far I only had that J'Adore, seems to be the most popular. It was ok, but as I was never a huge fan of this perfume, the experince was not all it could have been.

I wish niche houses would have hair perfumes to offer.

Hair holds perfume the best. Better than clothes.

BYREDO products are best for hair fragrances. Their hair perfume gives an innovative way to wear your favorite fragrance. Designed to diffuse scent throughout the day, this conditioning formula adds shine without weighing hair down.

Just curious - how many sprays does she use for her hair?

It seems to me she uses about 4 sprays on average, and that Mojave Ghost lasts ALL day!

Thanks for the pics of these hair perfumes Hednic! If anybody has tried any of the Lengling or Thameen, I’d love to know your thoughts!

Bumping because I bought two of these recently: the Malibu Lemon Blossom and the Himalayan Patchouli Berry. I’m also thinking about the Tahitian Gardenia for summer. I go through hair product pretty quickly (semi-long, wavy hair that I’m wearing natural), so I don’t want to spend a lot. Since I cut out silicones, my hair is more likely to smell “natural” if it hasn’t been washed that day, so I’m exploring my options. Anyone else using something good?

My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.
