Jen...........where is Tom Ford man? C'mon it deserves to be there!
Czech & Speake
Maitre Parfumer et Gantier
The Different Company
Histoire de Parfums
As always, i would have missed out on lot of houses. Please feel free to mention as apt.
Jen...........where is Tom Ford man? C'mon it deserves to be there!
Voted Olivier Durbano for his remarkable consistency.
You missed out Creed, how could you. lol
Amouage for me this last few months, altho that's probably to do with the fact that (a) the full line just got released here (at a very reasonable price compared to what I see for US market) and I have been indulging and (b) I'm probably now at the Amouage vector point on the TS (and ruggles?) arc of perfume discovery.
Honourable mention to MPG, Villoresi and Guerlain.
I can't choose one... Many of these houses are excellent and deserve to be "best"!
G.g.g.g.guerlain! Followed by Mugler, then Chanel!

The reason why i left out Guerlain is - as observed in previous polls, it wins by a huge margin so does Creed i tried to shortlist Fragrance houses which release deeper & heavier scents*...well ofcourse, TDC doesnt fit this criteria entirely but, what the heck
* i dont mean Guerlain and Chanel dont release heavier scents..just that they are too popular and would overshadow their peers.
I love my Dior's Most of their scents are wonderful and lovely.
@mr_reasonable: where are the Amouage line sold currently in Aus? I'm from Sydney and would love to get my hands on some!
True, Guerlain & Chanel are more mainstream compared to the other smaller niche players. Maybe consider a poll of niche/ artisanal houses with less than 20-25 scents to their name. My vote went to Histoires de Parfums.
Of the ones listed, I picked MPG, simply because the ratio of scents I like is probably the best amongst houses that have such a large portfolio.
From this list I think it'd be Tauer, d'Empire and Lutens being close seconds.
Tauer just gives me more right now, on my incense spree.
Creed and Chanel missing from this list kills its credibility imo.
Pish, no Diptyque?
Going off my wardrobe, the only houses I own multiple scents of are Diptyque, Hermès and Ava Luxe. Neither of which appears in your poll. *Sad face*
From the listed, I'll have to go with Lutens, but honestly, I don't know most of the houses intimately enough to cast a truly informed vote.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.
Dear OP, I think people are missing the point of your poll. Perhaps you could have added the words "limited to the houses listed here..."
Otherwise, it's painfully obvious that mainstream houses like Guerlain, Chanel and Creed would win every single time...and the complainers know that damn well and want to vote for Creed anyway.
Tauer from this list, but it's a toss up between Guerlain and Chanel for me as well.

My favorites include (however, without being limited to): Chanel, Guerlain, Armani, Knize, Penhaligon's, YSL and Emanuel Ungaro.

Caron is my favorite house right now...not on your list though
Knize Ten !
For me, Yves St. Laurent.
I'll go with Bois 1920 from this list and will wait for Oslo-Fjord to chip in with vote number 2. (Creed is my all time favourite though).

What are these options meant to represent, deluxe, niche, or ...my favorite house?
I am afraid I'll have to pass on this one (and wish AfraAfra was back...)

My favorite house is Caron. I've connected with more of theirs than any other house.
I admit I haven't tried anything from the majority of houses on your list, Jenson, but from there I'd have to pick Lutens, bcs Borneo 1834 is sooooo yummy!
What, no Guerlain? I was going to vote for them, in spite of their faults...

ointments and perfume delight the heart....
Well if it has to be from this list add another vote for Amouage with By Kilian as the runner up.
Maitre Perfumer et Gantier from the list....but my favourite is missing:
I have favorite perfume, not houses, favorite music, not bands, favorite dishes, not cuisines.
But I gave a nostalgic vote to C&S for what they used to be and no longer quite are. The same could be applied to Guerlain.
II est de forts parfums pour qui toute matière/Est poreuse. On dirait qu'ils pénètrent le verre.
I like many of the selection available from Parfumerie Generale.
- in that order of ones mentioned
- not mentioned
I went with L'Artisan as my favorite from the list. I considered MPG, but L'Artisan is a much more vibrant and alive house these days and I think I'm the only person who has absolutely no longevity issues with their fragrances. If Lorenzo Villoresi had been on the list, he would have been my choice. I loves me my Lorenzo. ;-)
WTF........Nobody said MALLE!!!!!!!
Gotta go with Amouage (like that surprises anyone ), with MPG a close runner-up.

Lutens - by far.

And I would have chosen Chanel. I get why you didn't include Chanel and Guerlain, but others like Frederic Malle and Comme des Garcons, Diptyque and Etat Libre d'Orange should be on the list. I voted for Le Labo, lovely perfume, great design.
I also would have chosen Guerlain . However I voted for By Kilian - I am probably one ofthe few !
Also would like to give the thumbs up to
Editions de Parfums
For sale. Carnal Flower and Vero Profumo Onda.
I was going to vote for Serge, but then it dawned on me that Micallef was a stronger choice for me. Granted i have not smelt all of her scents, but the first ones i experienced, thanks to ComDiva, have just left me in awe; that rarely if ever happens.
But Annick Goutal might have been another if it had been an option.
Quand on boit l'eau, il faut penser à sa source
At least I've bought from MPG!
The strongest players in my collection are Knize, BPAL, and Hermes, while on my wishlist would be Comme des Garcons, Caron, and Ava Luxe.
Guerlain, Chanel and de Nicolaï
Malle is the only house that consistently blows me away. Even the light-hearted Outrageous has it's merit. IMHO, of course.
Tom Ford Private Blends
All get my vote
