    Question Le Labo Pure Parfums?

I came across this seller on eBay who's selling 3 different Le Labo offerings and he/she claims that they all are pure parfums with around 40% concentration. The bottles are 15ml splash bottles and the labels still say 'eau de parfum' but the seller insists that since Le Labo did not have 'parfum' labels yet, they stuck the edp labels on the bottles.

I am still not buying this theory as there is no information on 'parfum' strength Le Labo's.
Does anyone has any evidence to the contrary?

Here is the link to the fragrances.

I am not advocating the purchase of these nor am affiliated with the seller in any way.

I think of parfum as 20%+ and the only parfum in the regular Le Labo lineup is Bergamote 22, which is at just over 20%. I had a look at the exact percentages of each perfume at the Le Labo launch in Sydney. Poivre 23 and Gaiac 10 are parfum strength as well, although I don't know the exact % since they're in the city exclusive line.

I can imagine these are either complete fakes, or from an SA at a Le Labo store who is going rogue.

Sounds bogus to me for two reasons:

    1) Le Labo's labels are generic so that anything, even your name and date of purchase, can be placed on them at a moment's notice. How hard would it have been to delineate what's in the bottle as "pure perfume"?

    2) Le Labo's labels are generic so that anybody with a printer can spin one out in a matter of minutes.

The whole thing sounds suspect. A rogue employee would be the best possible explanation because at least that would lend the fragrances some sort of authenticity. However, other (less savory) explanations are unfortunately far more likely.

The city exclusives are all pure parfums, even though they have an "eau de parfum" on the label. I have Poivre, Vanille and Aldehyde and believe you me, they last a whole lot longer than Rose and Patchouli which I also have. They also have significantly less sillage, indicating a characteristic of pure parfums. However, the ebay listings do look a bit suspicious. Maybe a LeLabo employee was "mixing" the perfumes and he put too much oil and less alcohol. I don't know.

I don't buy it. I've never heard of Le Labo offering perfume versions of their regular fragrances, nor have I heard of Le Labo offering bespoke services (like the hyacinth/oud/whatever combo that's listed). And if you're not satisfied with your purchase (e.g. suspect that they're in fact just EDPs), how are you going to prove that the item description was incorrect?

That is exactly what came to my mind.

I don't think they are fakes but possibly since Le Labo fragrances are prepared right in front of you, they can be tweaked here and there at the whims of the perfumer or the buyer. Nevertheless there is no way we can judge how much stronger these concoctions really will be compared to the standard Le Labos'.

Le Labo city exclusives are NOT extrait, or parfum concentration, except for the new york exclusive.
this is a huge misconception, I was utterly disappointed with all of them.

Merlino according to Le Labo's website they do offer bespoke fragrance, although I have never read of anyone who has had one made. But I don't buy the ebay guy either, makes no sense to commission or even receive as a gift a bespoke fragrance and turn around and sell it.

And musclegod I have it on pretty good authority that they are, at least for Gaiac 10 and Poivre 23.

You're right, I just read it in the FAQ... they hide it well, though! And they charge 40k for it

BTW, the following is also stated in the FAQ:

Question What happens if I don't like any of the Le Labo fragrances?
Answer If you are not excited by any of our fragrances, try Viagra, or better, go to www.editionsdeparfum.com where Frédéric Malle packages Haute Parfumerie and elegance into bottle and design.

I can't figure out whether it's meant as an insult or as a compliment?
