SOS did a really extensive review on it here on the boards... I'll try to find it!
I tried it in the store early in the year and I liked it. After a few months I decided to but it, I don't know why but I hate the smell now. I have a bottle of it that I have only touched maybe once. I guess I get a synthetic tobacco feel from it and thats what I don't like. Anyway I have never seen this fragrance mentioned anywhere so was curious about others thoughts on it.
I may be the only other BNer with a bottle. I am a tobaccoholic - anything even remotely tobaccoish ends up in my collection. It's exactly as you describe - a nice, linear, synthetic tobacco in a typical designer fragrance.
If you need some beautiful part of it to fixate on, to bring back the love, spend time sniffing Acqua di Gio, and note the subtle tobaccoish notes hidden behind the wall of water. Now see how those are brought forward in Deseo For Men. Sort of an inversion of the tobacco and the aquatic. For me, that's enough to make me love it every once in a while. It's also a nice bedtime frag - nothing too loud or non-comforting, and the wife likes it. And the aftershave is nice - kind of subtle.
Of course the picture of J. Lo on the box is kind of hot, but that had absolutely nothing to do with me buying it. I swear.
PS - thanks for the link to that awesome review, Matt. SoS deserves congrats for putting this under the microscope.
haha to be honest with you I doubt I would of even gave it chance if I knew it was a J-LO fragrance before I tried it. I tried it blind then found out who made it. I only use it when I wanna wear cologne and not really looking to try and impress anyone. It is really strong stuff at least on my skin, its a shame I dont care for it much anymore.
I really really like it, but rarely wear it. The metallic note is great, I like it a lot more than the one in Chrome.
I refuse to sink.
I am not fond of it.

We are talking about Deseo for Men - not Deseo (a feminine), right?
deseo men reminds me of swagger deodorant from old spice...i kinda like it
Current Top 5:
Tabac, Cardinal, Brookes Brothers, Musc Kublai Khan, Andron
I am not a fan of this either.....Gary
For what it's worth, I've only found a strong cedar leaf note in Deseo and L'Anarchiste. It's an excellent sharp, thujonic note, and I'd love to see it used more. It is rather edgy though, so I'm not sure I will.
