Nice choices for this chill ;-)

I had LOTS of company yesterday, loved it!

Bitter cold, so I'm in Madame X everything [ from the days od lotion, edp, parfum]-
    And off to work.
I need to make it through today, then I'm set ;-)

    Big hugs, sweet ones.

Oh Renee, I am SO envious!! I LIVED at the Barnes when I was a student at PAFA! They've got a couple gorgeous Roualts. Please say "Hi!" for me. *sigh*

Chiwwy here today...gonna test drive Bois du Portugal (thanx KBE!!) Maybe a man's frag'll keep me warm!

Later: Close! But no cigar. A nice woodsy oriental that (on me) opens with a blast of lavender and vetiver with a little ashtray thrown in and settles into a sort predictable ambery drydown.

Found a recipe for trifle that I hope will be enjoyed.....this has been a most tricky task after all! Heading to the shops to buy the ingredients, also gotta roast our goose for tomorrow night's party. It's painfully cold here too. Need some warmth so I'll let Iris Ganache do it's work.

    Have a great day everyone!

Finally back online after a fantastic, and much appreciated, vacation! For those who celebrated a birthday in my absence - I hope it was terrific! Today happens to be the son's eleventh birthday & we are preparing to host a New Years Eve sleep over for 6 of his buddies. I have collected 15 HUGE (appliance size) boxes, duct tape & plastic sheeting for the young fellows to create the "Ultimate Fort" in our basement. The Nerf guns are at the ready with plenty of ammo, the only thing left to stock up on is the popcorn and lemonade! The husband is going to buy some fireworks today - one of the cool perks of living in the Hoosier state! It should be loads of fun!

Welcome back and Happy son's b'day, UBU!!! And Lovethescents, I want a full report on the goose, please. Will Hungarian customs let you send me leftovers?

Today I am wearing the gorgeous (and gorgeously FRENCH) Nina Ricci Farouche, thanks to the extremely generous 3xasif!!!

Mmmm, there's no mistaking Farouche for anything but the old-school, real deal it is: Aldehydes, florals, a touch of soap and some sort of civet-y nastiness to keep it interesting.

Farouche notes (just re-looked up to check) : Aldehydes, Bergamot, Peach, Green Leaves, Rose, Carnation, Geranium, Cyclamen, Sandal, Vetiver, Musk, Amber.

    YUM! Wonderous Wednesday to all.

I SWEAR that I'm going to get my wardrobe updated in January!!! I'm pretty anal about my updating my spreadsheet, but somehow that doesn't translate well to updating my wardrobe. Anyway, if anybody really wants to know exactly what I have, I'll be happy to email you my spreadsheet....

I'm envious of all you people with nice, cold weather - It topped 37 degrees in Melbourne and without air-con I had to escape to the shopping center just to cool down.

I wore Dior Escale a Portofino which is so light and refreshing, definitely a much needed boost in the sluggish weather we're having right now.

By Killian Back to Black. Tried this sample for the first time last night, and did a repeat on the wrist this morning. Ran in it, and it seems like the lovely soft tobacco and honey notes lasted a lot longer on my glove than they did on my skin, where I smell the bitterness of the vetiver pretty quickly. The glove still smells great after 5 or 6 hours. I guess this is one that goes on the clothes, not on me. Hmmm ...

Ordered some more samples from Lucky Scents this morning. I've resolved not to buy any more samples for all of January.

Tao Lady, I did indeed salute the Roualts in your honor...this was our first visit to the collection and we were very impressed. We were both poleaxed by the Van Goghs that we came upon and saw some new sides to Matisse and Cezanne that we had never seen before. So much , too much to see at one visit. Spent nearly three hours there. Oh, and the Modiglianis! sigh.

Serge Lutens served me well. Hope you had a wonderful day in Bois du Portugal. That is one of the few male frags I own.

misscasey! Welcome back! You too, ubu!

We had snow all afternoon and evening yesterday, and now it's gone, and a comfortable 41 degrees out. I just got home from running errands, and now I'm trying to figure out a good, relatively healthy, yet interesting, hors d'oeuvre for my friend's New Year's Eve party.

I'm spending another day in the magical Lolita Lempicka.

Amouage Gold for me! I'm trying to keep my sanity in what has proven to be a very demanding week.

Isn't it wonderful? I love the way that dirty little civet note peeks out Glad you are enjoying it!

Farouche notes (just re-looked up to check) : Aldehydes, Bergamot, Peach, Green Leaves, Rose, Carnation, Geranium, Cyclamen, Sandal, Vetiver, Musk, Amber.

    YUM! Wonderous Wednesday to all.
I am truly in love, was hoping I wouldn't be. And it lasts all day on me!! Le sigh.

I swear it's killing me not being able to update my wardrobe and rate frags while Grant tinkers under the Basenotes hood... I really should learn some patience.

Today at work, I wore a lesser-known Ava Luxe, Moksha. An interesting mix of forest floor soil and sandalwood with just a pinch of poopiness. Despite my mortal fear of smelling even remotely fecal, I actually quite liked it. Very contemplative.

For the evening, I'm wearing the rather difficult Hilde Solani Stecca. Tomato leaf, papaya, and just a hint of bile. Seriously. More art than wearable perfume, to my nose. Not that that's a bad thing...

    Good evening all.

Welcome back to MissCasey and our darling Ubu.

Happy Birthday to Ubu's son and best of luck with fort construction. Sounds like he will be having such fun.

Today i wore vintage Risqué by Juvena

Tonight i am wearing Coco EdT (which i prefer over the other formulations) so i will be cozy in bed, which is where i will be momentarily heading.

    Love and hugs to all

Very late post for me...today was Dior Homme EDT, which (in cooler weather) is lovely, dry, leathery and carroty iris. Sorry for being a broken record, but some of the "high end" iris frags just can't compete with this one...
