Question Black Orchid vs Black Orchid Voile de Fleur.

I have tried Back Orchid. Now what can I expect relative to Balck Orchid in the form of Black Orchid Voile de Fleur?

The Voile is lighter for sure, with less of a creamy, frothy drydown, if you know what I mean. I get some hints of citrus and light florals in the base.

Its Black Orchid with less of the chocolate and rotting/decay notes and with white florals added. I prefer the original but I can see why some would like VDF better.

I love them both...VdF is more floral, not so "mushroomy" as original (as futami describes rotting/decay notes), but not so flowery that a guy couldn't wear it. I picture a guy in VdF in a well tailored suit and silk scarf, two tone shoes, and a woman with stockings and red nails. Just my impressions

I have both and enjoy both. Black Orchid is more of a gourmand-lush fragrance, whereas Voile de Fleur is more of a gourmand-oriental-floral... At least on me.

I consider Black Orchid more suitable for a man, as in my opinion, it is less flowery and more "agressive" in a way. For instance, on my husband it smells simply divine. I'm not quite sure about Voile de Fleur, although I could always try it on my husband too and share my impressions.

VdF is discontinued, I believe. There is a detailed review of it here:

I thought Black Orchid original was brilliant, but it was just too much, unwearable for me. I wouldn't mind smelling it on someone else. Voile de Fleur was more typically "feminine" and floral and I thought it was very pretty, especially the hair fragrance, and one I would actually reach for to wear if I had a full bottle.

I have used and enjoyed both of them a lot. As already stated in posts above, VdF is more floral and is just as creamy & luscious as the original. A worthy flanker to carry the Black Orchid name.

Is Black Orchid Voile the fleur a safe blind purchase????

I own Black Orchid and I like it though I do not enjoy too much in the opening notes something that smells to me as 'coconut'. I know there is not any coconut, but the actually the mix of opening notes make to my nose 'coconut smell'... In BO Voile the fleur is repeated this opening smell with reminds to coconut????...

It happens to me something similar with D&G By woman, that I feel disappointed in the opening, but OMG!, I love medium notes & drydown...

    can you help me????
    thanks!!!!
