    Default Mediterranean Scent Suggestions

    Hey everyone,

I'm going to be studying in Rome until mid May and was wondering what colognes you guys think would fit the warm, easygoing, mediterranean vibe (I know it is in central Italy, but it supposedly gets pretty warm in the Spring).

I am thinking that maybe a good day fresh scent would be nice, but am interested in suggestions.

    Wishing you all the best,
    Jon

Almost anything by Acqua di Parma
    Armani L'Eau pour Homme
Esencia Loewe and Loewe para Hombre by Loewe
    Paco Rabanne pour homme
Tuscany by Aramis (a Mediterranean Oriental, warm, sensual, yet not as heavy and as overpowering, as an Oriental, since the heavier notes are counterbalanced by citrus and spice)
    Spazio Krizia
    Roccobarocco Joint
Cerutti 1881 (not the flankers, but the initial version)
    Roberto Capucci pour Homme

Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee--green and woody floral with tomato leaf and fig (fruit, leaves, and branches). Very subtle and perfect for spring.

Ken Russell nailed it; 1881, Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta and Loewe para hombre would be my personal choices for the Med.

I would like to add Monsieur de Givenchy and Eau Sauvage/Dior to the list.

A lot of good suggestions here. Another one to consider is Iskander, a wonderful salty citrus chypre with a mediterranean vibe.

Definitely try out Stephanie de Saint-Aignan Li Altarelli. An HERBAL aquatic, without any ozone. Very breezy and nice stuff.

I second Li Altarelli. It was created as an ode to the island of Corsica. It has a really gorgeous lemon opening, then the herbal/marine notes that mtgprox05 mentioned. Here are the listed notes: Lemon, Galbanum, Lavender, Floral Violet, Marine Notes, and Everlasting Flowers from Corsica.

DEFINITELY Eau du Sud! It, along w/ Acqua di Parma, is the quintessential Mediterranean scent!

    Hey guys,

I happen to have a mini of Aqua di Parma Cologne (It has no additional name, so I assume that this is what you guys were talking about). I don't know many of the colognes that you guys mentioned but will look into what I can get at stores near me (I am leaving ina few days and can't wait for processing & shipping time). I am also thinking about Eau Sauvage and Hermés Eau D'Orange Verte Concentré (I hear that the concentrete is better and different smelling than the original).

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Ciao,
    Jon

I've been waiting two years for this question. When I was in Rome during the summer, my favorite scent in practice turned out to be....

    Acqua di Gio Pour Homme

I'm not lying. It was very hot, and AdG was perfect. My Gucci Envy felt like it was choking me, even at night. I never enjoyed AdG that much anywhere else. However, I think spring may allow some other choices, so be sure to try some other things, too.

Acqua di Parma Colonia would be excellent in Spring in Rome... refreshing, classic and stylish. You should also check out the Mediterraneo range from Acqua di Parma, there's a good selection to choose from if you want that Mediterranean 'feel'.
