Egoiste. Wears surprisingly well in hot humid weather even with 5 sprays.

    I second Platinum Egoiste.

    Platinum Egoiste
Allure blanche is nice, but it can't hang and project thru cold air.

I give the slight edge for Platinum Egoiste after wearing it in the rain yesterday and being outside for a while. Not only is it suitable for all occasions, it's also suitable for a very wide age range. College dudes in a t-shirt, jeans, and a New Era fitted cap can pull off wearing it as much as a 50-year old gentleman who wears Van Heusen pants and a polo or whatever. Allure Sport is versatile, but I think the age range is a bit more limited on that one. Allure Blanche, as much as I love the stuff, won't cut through cold air. Anything colder than fall weather will just die. =/

Chanel No. 5 EdT or Eau Premier ( probably the latter appeals to guys more, as it's drier, but for a young guy like me who has no associations with No. 5 beyond advertising, No. 5 is just fine ). My favorite Chanel is probably Coromandel or No. 19, though.

I have to say Allure Homme or Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport. All the Chanels previous to the Allure line smell dated to me. Obviously you can wear any of them anywhere and at anytime you personally like. The first thing I think of when I smell older Chanel frags is 'cologne'...they just have a dated cologne thing going on to my nose. I have owned most of them at one time or another and have given them ample wearings. Versatile to me means...today...modern...spray on without contemplation of time, place, event, weather. But that is just my interpretation, and I must admit, I am not a vintage, classic, old means better type of fragrance guy.

Also, not to mention Platinum Egoiste has stood the test of time! Doesn't smell too old school at all.

Maybe Allure. I could see it being just casual enough for jeans or just formal enough for a suit. To me Allure is kind of like whatever you make it. I love Egoiste, but I see it as mosty a formal frag. I could see the Edition Blanche argument as well.

Pour Monsieur is great, but it's so weak kneed! If only it lasted...

Whilst I love Egoiste a great deal, the most versatile Chanel is easily Platinum Egoiste, perfect for any occasion, season or dress code.
