There is only one fragrance that I have received negative comments on, and that is Kouros. My wife thinks it is the worst scent I own, hands down. I still think the drydown is among the best, BUT, after I wore this one to work one day and had the monstrous "unwashed" civet note rear its ugly head, I can understand why so many people dislike it. I solicited the opinions of two of my female coworkers that day and they both gave Kouros a thumbs down. Since I want to smell good and not "unclean," I may never wear Kouros in public again. Who wants to get negative comments on their frag?
When I wear Original Vetiver (Creed), my wife tells me it smells cheap and like Luv's Baby Soft.
Second place: About 15 years ago, I was wearing Bijan Men at my mother's house, and she said I smelled like I'd just showered in Aqua Net.
Angel was the last frag I wore that I got attacked over. Lots of nose holding.
TF Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather. I then called my mother an asshole.
As much as I love Kouros it always gets the negative comments.
"A parent's only as good as their dumbest kid. If one wins a Nobel Prize but the other gets robbed by a hooker, you failed."
Baldessarini Ambre - "Uuuggh, you smell like dog poo".
Luckily I hadn't bought it yet.
Cerutti 1881, and Lagerfeldt classic.
For me it was two of mt favourites
Route du Vetiver: "You smell like a moldy basement....!" but I agree, that's why I wear it.
Royal Aoud: the proverbial mosquito repelent.... that I don't get but I hear it so much that i cannot contest it any more
Minotaure - Have you been to McDonalds? 'Cause you smell like you've just been there.
Drakkar Noir in my case too, although almost anything leathery, Oriental and "heavy"
1 negative compliment

-Who burnt incense in this room? A guy who works in the same office asked this question after he had entered in the room and I was the only one who wore perfume. It was Annick Goutalís Myrrhe Ardente.
-Oh! Did you take Thai traditional snuff? A female colleague once asked me when I wore Givenchy Gentleman.
I considered these two questions very vexing.
My girlfriend hates M7.......She wants me to wear it a day that I dont see her....thats never!!!!

Funny. Encre Noire garners the most compliments for me followed by Antaeus, but I wear these a lot.
Shalimar (i wear edc) and Mitsouko (edp) get compliments, but an equal amount of "what smells like old lady?"-- but then again, I wear these a lot.
I offer you perfume,
More for its pleasure than for yours;
You perfume perfume.

WoW!..you must really like those two scentsQuotes By TJMAC - TF Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather. I then called my mother an asshole.
Anyway, I'd say "Kouros" gets ambiguous comments, drawn from good and bad perspectives!

Whenever I wear an oud / rose fragrance I always get the same comment from my SA and that is: "I like what you are wearing but it is too strong! It's that chemical smelling stuff (oud) that causes the fragrance to be much stronger than you are aware of." I get this comment whenever I have worn Black Aoud (Montale), AMAZE, or Midnight Oud (Juliette has a Gun) - even when I wear very small amounts. "the oud causes it to be too strong! . . . but I do like the way it smells." I don't get this objection to the oud when wearing Oud Wood - the opposite occurs - always positive comments. So it is the oud + rose + saffron or patchouli combinations that do it.

Creed Himalaya - my wife thinks it smells like bug spray.
Majority of time when I wear too much, is only time i get a negative complaint.
So i have been real easy on the trigger as of late.
The only one that I know of that got me a real negative complaint was Serge Lutens Amber Sultan
Aqua di Parma Colonia
Colleague in the office, 'Who's wearing fly spray??'
Alot of people are not use to Aoud smells so they wouldn't know
I actually got some bad comments wearing Zegna Extreme, which is somewhat similar to black aoud
then again I got compliments on Le Male and I can't stand wearing it anymore
