Enjoying a guilty pleasure - a generous gift from socalwoman - the sultry Boisé Torride from Guerlain.

One of my faves from this house - it could easily be my next Guerlain!

Good very early morning, or morning, or mid-day, as the case may be, and have a wonderful day!

Good morning and to everyone celebrating ....

Blessed with fine weather for our expedition, taking our parents for lunch at a carvery with a well-stocked wine cellar out in rural Hertfordshire.

Much of yesterday was spent around Henley-on-Thames, now mercifully free from flood water. Mild conditions ensured the first al-fresco dining of 2014 .....

Sending condolences to kumquat and shades.

Magnetic Scent Untitled #1 today a stunningly beautiful jasmine solifore, all you lovers of jasmine this is one to sample before IFRA makes it a thing of the past.

Jasmine love continues with Nuda tonight another indolic jasmine which suits me just fine, I’m not one for scrubbed clean florals.

Kiliwia I really enjoyed La Tulipe when I sampled the Byredo line last week. Is it just me or does Sunday Cologne smell a lot like Terre d’Hermes? Some tulips do have a scent they are rare though.

ErinK enjoy spending time with your folks, lucky them getting yummy homemade baked treats. I’ve just downed a cronut which, for the uninitiated, is a cross between a croissant and donut stuffed with crème patisserie.

    ((Kumquat)) and ((shades)).

Mocha for the cold I’m loving every second of it.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Kumquat, I choose to believe we should find our pet friends on the other side, too. Later, Cosmo.
Shades, a hug and best wishes for putting your loss in perspective. You're so wise, I trust you already have.

Time to run out the rollerball of L'Occitane Pivoine Flora I picked up in a flash while strolling around Victoria Gardens with cousin a week ago. I rarely buy on impulse, but this fresh cutie was a no-brainer. It reminds me of a portion of Guerlain's With Love (minus the amber drydown). It is all about the peony, with just a wink of rose, and a sturdy stem of green.

kalli are you interested in Untitled #1? I enjoy all Spyro's creations but being a jasmine nut this one was a must have. They do samples (http://www.magnetic-scent.com/product/samples/), I'm not sure of the shipping to the US though, if it's an issue let me know.

and here's a pic of the cronut I sent to my sister. I was being a wee bit evil in my taunting tonight.

Good morning all! We're having a beautiful day so far, warm and sunny. Tonight around midnight it's suppose to start snowing and last until Tuesday morning, sure hope it misses us.

Xscent, I don't know if I've tried Sunday Cologne, I might have in Chicago last fall. It does have geranium, vetiver and patchouli in common with Terre d'Hermes, maybe that's why they seem similar. Btw your picture of cronuts is making me hungry, they look so good!! Also, isn't Nasomatto Nuda discontinued, I thought I read that it was?

Wearing Hilde Soliani Il Tuo Tulipano this morning, there is no tulip note in this one, but on Luckyscent it says it was inspired by a walk through a field of red and yellow tulips. The notes listed are bergamot, blackberry, lime, peach, kiwi, passion fruit, freesia, lily of the valley, jasmine, vetiver, sandalwood, oak moss and white musk. This one is a little more fruity than Byredo La Tulipe, but it is really nice.

    Have a great Sunday!!!

Oh wow, l want a cronut right now!

Having a disgustingly lazy day today, l only got dressed about an hour ago. Something to do with the clocks going forward last night, at least that's my excuse. l'm now giving a second wearing to my sample of vintage White Shoulders cologne by Evyan.

A happy Mothering Sunday to all those celebrating.

Mrs Q!!!!!!!! Jon has proof (via picture) that you were arrested while in New Mexico!!!!! You should have called and I would have bailed you out. I guess the scent party train got a little out of hand, eh?!!

Jon, enjoy your Tom of Finland. You beat me to it. That stuff is good!

I broke my bottle ban last night by pulling out Mauboussin, so might as well call my sample only month done, even though a day or two early. Today I went for Chanel Coromandel! I've missed my bottles!!!

    Happy Sunday!

I just discovered some O de Lancôme in my Goodwill give away box. I sprayed some on to give it one last chance to not make me gag. If it misbehaves I will cover it up with a blast of Sous le Vent. I used to wear O de Lancôme all the time back in the 80s. Either it has changed or I have... I repurchased it last year for sentimental reasons.

Mike, that tea looks good! I hope you like it! : ) If you have a health food store that sells bulk herbs, you might be able to find the root or powdered root there too. Chinese markets also usually have it in the dried herb section. I’ve never had any ill effects from the occasional cup of licorice tea, (or an occasional gorging on the candy, though that is mostly flavored with anise…) and quite often I blend the licorice with other herbs, such as peppermint, chamomile, lemongrass, etc. so it is further diluted, but still yummy. Actually, it might be easier to find it in blends—Yogi Tea makes Egyptian Licorice and Licorice Mint, Stash has a Licorice Spice blend, and I have seen it listed in the ingredients for several others, more as an accent I suppose. I *love* a middle eastern brand called Ramzy though; it’s just strong licorice tea!

Trilby, I have O de Lancome and I think it probably smells better on my BF, lol! Although I appreciate it most in really humid, hot places, like Hawaii or Puerto Vallarta.

Anyway… SOTD is Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere!

Thank you all for those sandalwood suggestions. I am going to sample them all. Also Tom of Finland.

It's a beautiful day here, finally: 50 degrees and sunny. Nevertheless, I could not resist wearing Portrait of a Lady again, instead of something actually springy. I think that means I'm a goner.

Kiliwia, teardrop, kalli cronuts are a heart attack on a plate but so worth indulging in once in a while (she says as she polishes off another one with this mornings coffee).

Kiliwia were you the one looking for a jasmine? Sadly my beloved Nuda has been disco'd, you can still find it for now but I've noticed it's getting a little harder. Demeter's Jasmine is a lovely dewy grandiflora jasmine with some indoles, just enough to dirty it up a smidgen. The current bottles is still lovely but if you enjoy the hunt the old ones are magic and a bargain. The other two that I have come across that are really beautiful jasmine solifores are Intelligent Nutrients Jasmine Absolute and Rodin Olio Lusso. I've heard good things about Montale's Jasmine Full too.

Another cool day with possible rain (yay x2). Cosy cashmere and Bois des Îles parfum and EdT making everything right with the world today.

First, big terry hugs for Kumquat and shades.

We left early this morning to head out for a day. Trip to Savannah, GA with our daughter, son in law and grandson. What a gorgeous time we had amount blossoming azaleas and moss laden oaks looking down upon us. Mostly lazed about and soaked in the sunshine. Scent for the day was Marchesa again.

On our trip back, I received word that a bottle of Zahd will be heading my way. I couldn't be more pleased.
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Busy day. Slept in (I danced until 5:30 am) . The Dj was absolutely amazing. What a workout dancing is. My legs are sore. Lol

Got a massage so I still have the remnants of my Santal Blanc by Serge Lutens lingering.

Xscent - enjoy your cold weather...it's starting to warm up here. 80's all day today. I never heard of the Magnetic Scents line until now. I love how the cronut porn you're posting has the word 'Temptation' underneath. That made me giggle
Trilby Lark I love O. I tried O Pour Homme and it's just not as exciting. Maybe it was reformulated.
