Default Today I bought: March 2014

I just got this little beauty: a sealed bottle of Hermès - Calèche parfum.

    1.jpg2.jpg

Any idea from what year it might be?

    Well done, PaveLL
The paper labels were used on the early ones.
So, 1960's & 1970's but maybe someone knows when they first altered them to give you an end date ?

I ordered some samples, and they are:

    Muguet de Bonheur - Caron
Eau de Camille - Annick Goutal
    Le Muguet - Annick Goutal
    Tihota - Indult

I am really looking forward to sniffing these.

Eau de Joy Edp, bought before I tried it. After I bought it, someone sent me a Joy parfum sample, so I sniffed it...thought it was way too much on the icky, wet cat note. Eau is a little better, but still way much on the cat..does smell better after a while, becoming more sweet and rosy.

Elie Saab, small bottle..sweeter than I remembered it but I still like it..a bit too much patch too..if I could, I would make it less sweet and patchy.

Is that a vintage bottle of Parfum Sacre? I have never smelled Parfum Sacre, but I always had a secret love for it because of the name

Went thrifting Saturday with my Mom. Scored a mini Anne Klein II for $3 !!!! WooHoo!! also a big body mist of BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar ,a mini Very Sexy by VS edp,and two edt of Charles of the Ritz(smells a bit like Mdme Rochas from the bottle haven't given it a wearing yet).

Celebrated my birthday Sunday (a couple days early -it's actually on 3/4) and got a bottle of Ellen ,by Ellen Tracy ;Gardenia by E Taylor ; Light and Love by J Lopez;and Sensuous Nude by EL. Apparently some of these haven't been reviewed yet .I'll see if I can get that done this week.

    Congrats on the Carons! Excellent!

Thank you bookwyrsmith - congrats to you too & a happy forthcoming birthday

I always preferred the EdT Joy, kalli - it was nice in moderation but the parfum was quite strong
It's never been clear to me whether my old bottles might have 'stewed' a bit or whether I'm more sensitive now!

It's a 4 Fl. oz. bottle of Eau de Toilette, and it was still sealed. It was the only one far and wide ....

Firm believer in the Happy Birthday to Me! present, I successfully bid on eBay for some Guerlain Vega, about half full. I've had good luck with ebay, and partial bottles; the seller described careful storage. Thanks, Larimar dear, for the generous sample of this Ylang-that-clangs big-boned beauty. A three-day wearing convinced me this is "my" Guerlain. Will post a photo when it arrives.

Happiest birthday, dear jujy! Great! Vega is so special. I love it dearly and it's so much better (read: interesting) than No. 5 and the likes. Also, I always get a clear L'Heure Bleue vibe about 45 minutes in my wearing.
Alright, I have three bottles of old Miel de Bois to confess. I found them in a French online store. Hey, they were heavily discounted!

Larimar have got stockpiled enough MdB for life yet? Very nice purchase.

I don't even know how Givenchy L'Interdit appeared on my radar - I had never heard of it until a few weeks ago. Somewhere, anyway, I read about it and was dying to try it, and evidently karma was on my side because I received a surprise vintage sample of it with my purchase of No.19 a few weeks ago. Since then I've been scouring ebay, and after careful searching I finally decided on *this* one - I can't wait to get it and try to date it.

Well, my much awaited bottle of Parfums de Nicolai Patchouli Intense arrived, and it's truly truly wonderful.

And then I happened to drop on a vintage parfum bottle of Dior Dune and another of Gucci No3 for very little, so picture me a very happy bunny that day.

I suspect that this month will include further purchases even if I didn't plan on spending, because this month it appears that I'm going to be pretty immobile because I've done something really bad to my good knee, so boredom + internet connection = spending, doesn't it?

Yesterday , I went out shopping the discounters and I got a gift set of Juicy Couture Couture,Couture for only $14.99! Tried my sample of it and it's very jasmine dominant after the grape jelly/plum opening. Waffling about keeping it as it apparently is recently discontinued, but there is still quite a lot to be seen at discounters though at higher prices. I'm not a super fan of jasmine as the prima donna note.
I also bought a large pump bottle of EA Green Tea lotion and L'eau Florale Attimo by Ferragamo $10 each happy with both of these.

Stupid lack of impulse control. I was at Marshall's last night, spotted a 50ml of Marc Jacobs 'Bang' for $19, and spent all night trying to fit my knuckles into the curvature of the bottle. I've sampled and liked it- all that pepper! During last night's celebratory spritzing, I realized that there's just enough vetiver that it may be the thing that unlocks that note for me. I needed a gateway vetiver!
