Eau de Rochas Homme. I am not a big spicy citrus fan, but I think this is nicely done, and classy.

How about Eau de Hermes, a leather chypre with a fairly strong cumin note but also some cardamum and and clove and maybe some coriander?

I think Monsieur Balmain is a very good and inexpensive spicy citrus scent. It has a lot of sandalwood in it, which acts as a fixative, making the lemon note last for hours, and gives it a spicy and slightly dirty edge. Sandalwood gives many scents a certain woody spiciness.

I have Monsieur Balmain but it isn't really spicy. It's lemony and woody. For spicy citrus, check out Eau Sauvage.

I would definitely go with Capucci pour Homme by Roberto Capucci. Bowling Green by Geoffrey Beene would also fit the bill.

Eau Sauvage feels a little more herbal and animalic than it is spicy, IMO.

    +1 Tuscany.

Ormonde Jayne's Isfarkand was first that came to mind. Lime, mandarin and pink pepper. It's a delightful and sparkling scent and perfectly fine for formal occasions.

Balle de Match by Parfums de Nicolai is my choice in this category. May I post zztopp's review for your reading pleasure.

    Notes:
    Top notes : grapefruit, lemon
Heart :spicy : pink berries, pepper, juniper berries
Bottom notes : patchouli, oakmoss and frankincense

    zztopps review:
Balle de Match (BdM) is an easy to wear woody citrus anchored by an excellent grapefruit note. The opening is all grapefruit - but this is not the forceful acidic kind as in Guerlain's Pamplelune. In BdM, the grapefruit reveals all its facets: its sharp and slightly bitter alright, but its also smooth and juicy. Pairing it with a lemon note high in limonene content prevents it from developing that acerbic quality that can make the Guerlain hard to swallow. The limoneny lemon note tempers the acidity and accentuates the tangy fruity aroma of grapefruit. So yea, the grapefruit note is in great form here. What about the rest of the fragrance?

Soon, BdM starts melding into a muted spicy fruity accord .. not unlike the aroma of an indian fruit chaat. The grapefruit note extends all the way into the drydown lending a cloud of juicy softness to the entire accord, with its spicy cohorts uplifted by a juniper berry note high in pine content and low in its balsamic effect. The woody incense notes provide a warm base to rest on, but BdM is very much about a tart juicy spicy grapefruit accord.

BdM is also suprisingly long lasting for an eau de sport concentration - it easily lasts more than 5 hours on my skin. Its not a terribly complex fragrance, nor does it evolve much, but those are pretty much the only criticisms I can make. BdMs tart juicy grapefruit will provide office relief, and its spicy-woody base will lend your evenings an air of casual sophistication. What else do you want from an Eau de Sport ?

thank you very much everyone for your opinions, especially to perfaddict for his welcome. are too much for my wallet, anyway my idea of this perfume is that predominates its elegant and spicy character, and its citrus note be mild and don´t cover the whole.
    thanx again

    Hello blackened,

In your mind, is there a distinction between spicy, herbal, and woody, as there is in mine? It seems to me that many classic citruses are herbal, while many contemporary aquatics are spicy. For instance, Dior Eau Sauvage and YSL Pour Homme are herbal. For woody, I think of Monsieur Balmain (sandalwood), Eau de Rochas Pour Homme (coniferous), and L'Anarchiste (mentholated cedar). For spicy, I see ones such as Truefitt & Hill's 1805, which to me is a contemporary citrus aquatic. Furthermore, some like Chrome lose their spicy edge and become soft, sweet musks. Tuscany to me is clearly a fougere while Monsieur de Givenchy is resolutely fresh, and not spicy.

I'm just trying to more clearly understand your interest and perspective. At any rate, try the 1805, L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme, or the above mentioned Chanel Allure citruses.

Burberry The Beat. It's exactly what you're asking for. Pepper (spicy) plus smoothe orange (citrus). Do check it out.

Hi Larwiz , some say that the beat is similar to the new DKNY Man, doesn´t it? perhaps the beat is more spicy...

There are some GREAT recommendations there for you to consider blackened. If you are on a designer budget, I think Terre d'Hermés, Burberry The Beat or Eau de Rochas Homme would definitely all do the trick IMHO. I can send you some small sample vials of all three if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks. Complimentary, since you are a new member and on a bit of a budget.

Blenheim Bouquet, Penhaligon's. The ultimate Spicy Citrus. Simple composition, but has depth, and Citrus on the top, and loaded with spices on the bottom. If you don't like Pine though I would stay away from this fragrance. Best to sample first.
Don't panic. Just stay calm, and reload....
