Arrow Have you ever tweaked a fragrance with essential oil?

The closest I ever came to "reformulating" a fragrance was using lime essential oil to make Taylor of old Bond Street Lemon-Lime shaving cream actually smell like lime.

    Are you a tweaker?

I "improved" Caswell-Massey's Aura of Patchouli by adding a bit of patchouli oil. I can't say it was better than the unadulterated fragrance, but it definitely smelled more like patch.

I've heard of someone adding vanilla to CdG EdP ( which for me takes away the charm of the fragrance being one of the few oriental fragrances without a vanillic base, but hey, whatever works, you know? )
Find me, AromiErotici, Mimi Gardenia, Redneck Perfumisto, and Actiasluna at Il Mondo di Odore!

    To a 200ml bottle of 4711 I add...
    1/4 ml bergamot oil
    1/4 ml sandalwood oil
    1/4 ml ambergris oil
    1/4 ml birch tar
    4 drops sweet birch oil
    4 drops taif rose oil
    2 drops styrax essence
    1 drop oakmoss extract
    1 drop each @ 1/20 dilution: aldehydes c-8, c-9 and c-11

    Major tweak. Awesome results.

I know what you mean. Vanilla is taking over the world.

Because I am deeply into oils as equal as I am to the juices, I am always in the 'Lab' mixing oils and fragrances.

I have some real winners. Last week I wore Straight to Heaven Mixed with an oil called Egyptian Amber. One of my colleagues said I smelled like an exotic Prince (Whatever that mean't...LOL) She said the combination was hypnotic. I have posted this before but I have an oil called Bengal Black Musk which as a base elevates most winter scents to another level. I can never run out of Bengal Black Musk.
