I personally think you've made a great choice - it's a wonderful frag and probably Davidoff's best. Actually I ought to get another bottle myself - it's been a couple of years since I used up the last one. It's a nice masculine floral but on the lighter side of masculine florals - more Caron 3rd Man or VC&A Tsar than Czech & Speake 88. I find the BN comments very weird - quite a few that give it a sterling review (one even calls it a masterpiece) but then gives it a middling or thumb down. Anyway, yeah - great choice and good value for money.

If you like spicy scents, especially ones with prominent patchouli and rose, you'll love Zino. The amazing thing about it is how itis very spicy but never overbearing; it stays very close to the skin, but has excellent longevity (I get a good 10 to 12 hours out of it). It's one of my favorite scents.

Good choice! I am sure you will enjoy it. Its a bit unapologetic, sillage-wise, but i am sure you already knew that. A classic!

I think you should have tried it first. I don't know how many fragrances I've tried that other people said "This is perfect for you!" and they were... at best blase, at worst, good cheese. Just because it smells good doesn't mean it's for you to wear. Hopefully, you'll love it though. Light on the trigger finger first time you wear it out.

As always, disregard most of what I say. It's not worth your heart health to actually worry about what a 23 year old guy from Kansas thinks. Even if he is really ridiculously good looking.

Wasn't too crazy bout it the first time I wore it...
A couple of weeks later when I wore it again , I just loved it.
    Excellent longevity, Great fragrance!

Howie, you certainly are a risk taker aren't you I think I really felt overwhelmed by Zino the first time I sampled it, but I have grown to really like it. I think you made a very good choice.

I'd like to say you made a great choice, but blind buys are always risky and this business is very subjective. I agree with people that upon first wearing it's a bit harsh, especially the topnotes. But that soon disappears and it then evolves in a truly beautiful drydown. Don't be disappointed immediately, give it a a couple of tries.

I bought Zino last month, based upon the recommendation of a Basenoter whose opinions I ALWAYS trust (shamu1), and what a superb rose/patchouli accord it has indeed! It reminds me of both Carven Homme and the great Mazzolari Lui all in one. The patchouli in Zino imparts the 'perfect' amount of minimally animalic dirtiness to the accord, and the frag wears delightfully close to the skin. For me....by the time the dry down starts to phase in (where the rose is still there nicely, but the patchouli is softened by vanilla), it was almost 7 hours after application! Zino by Davidoff is an excellent fragrance. ENJOY!!!

Many thanks for all your replies and words of wisdom.zino has been posted today so it should be with me tomorrow(cant wait!!)-i am a great advocate of 80"s powerhouse fragrances-so it will be interesting to see if zino can be included in that category!! i dont normally blind buy a fragrance but zino i thought to myself is worth a punt!! will let you all know what my zino experience is like-and thanks againfor all of your comments!! It's an excellent scent and an excellent value. It is "powerhouse 80s" but since it's floral and sweet, it's different. It's mysterious and sensual. I love it and I hope you'll enjoy it too. Please report your experience.

I like it, but I'm not quite as enthralled as many here.

On me, it tends to get a little too powdery. A light application works well.

The scent grows richer, he knows he must be near
He finds a long passageway lit by chandelier
Each step he takes, the perfumes change
From familiar fragrance to flavours strange
A magnificent chamber meets his eye

for me Zino was a blindbuy and I was thrilled! But one never knows, we're all different and ppl differ in tastes...I hope you'll love it, I've hardly met a person that does not love it, not to mention that this scent is unobtainable in Croatia, so very few wear it, wich is a big plus to me

Bought Zino blind two or three years ago and really enjoy it. It is surprisingly versatile weather-wise and never disapoints.

I'm pleased to read that you like Zino. I wish I had a vintage version, as the cap on my bottle just looks ugly. I like the one in the Basenotes Directory photo.
