Default Your Top Five Conservative Sharp Suit Fragrances

You're in an immaculately cut dark business suit, TM Lewin double cuff shirt, silk tie etc. You are the epitome of elegance.

What are your top five fragrances to go with this ensemble...

Although there are many that came to mind, the fragrances I would consider would be and in no particular order:

    1) Heritage by Guerlain
    2) Helmut Lang EDC
    3) Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon's
    4) GEO F Trumper's Sandalwood Cologne
    5) 3rd Man by Caron

(on the subs bench waiting to come on, Gucci Nobile)

    Over to you...

    Third Man
    Heritage
    Habit Rouge
    Vetiver
    Eau Sauvage

Each of which I wear formally or informally, but they're great for dressed to the nines occasions.

Chanel No. 19 edp would be classy.

Though I think the juxtaposition of Yatagan, Antaeus, Fracas, Bal a Versailles, or Opium would be fun (though not conservative) and probably "suit" me better.

I do wear Yatagan with suits like that and quite enjoy it, in its own way it's a very elegant fragrance.

At last, a query I can sink my teeth into...

    Windsor
    Vintage Tabarome
    GIT
    Domenico Caraceni 1913
    Hamman Bouquet

Many notables on the bench too. I think I've got too many fairly dressy frags honestly.

I should have added Hammam Bouquet on my bench too as it's one of my top five all time favourites.

That one indeed DEMANDS a suit. I'm kind of torn lately. Lives in a zone very similar to Windsor imo.

It demands at least a jacket and open necked shirt, but tastefully so. I do get somewhat rebellious and just wear it around the house wearing nothing but a sloppy t-shirt and sweatpants, but whilst I love the fragrance, I do feel deliciously guilty lol.

It's a bit like Mouchoir de Monsieur in that respect.

No one has mentioned Richard James EDT.

This actually supposedly has a "clean shirt" accord, whatever that is. Of course, you expect a sharp suit scent from Savile Row...

A very nice floral (tuberose) and spice scent.

    1. Richard James EDT
    2. Habit Rouge by Guerlain
    3. Parfum d'Habit by MPG
    4. Allure PH by Chanel
    5. Pour Monsieur

Oh I don't know, it's opening maybe, but the drydown does have an elegance to it.

Don't get me wrong ... it's my signature scent,
I just don't find it conservative.
But hell, I listed Antaeus, a frag many wouldn't
call conservative either ... to each his own!

Antaeus is great with a black suit. Killer in fact. Maybe a little retro, but still great.

It's retro alright, the smell of an 80s gaybar!
No selfrespecting queer would leave the house
without it ... I wish I'd been there!
