    Default Fresh yet sweet (vanilla-ey/tonka-ey/cinammon-ey)?

    Hey all,

I've been wanting a new summer fragrance to replace my old Lacoste Essential I got years ago, and I sort of bought 212 Men on a whim, but I find it's FAR too sharp for my tastes. It's just the metallic-vibe, coupled with the already very citrusy opening just reminds me of lemon and lime just blended together and shoved under your nose.

So I was wondering if there were any fresh scents that are a bit sweeter? Now i'm not looking for just pure sweetness, but more something mild in the base notes just to take the edge off the freshness. I'm thinking of sort of a fresh minty, SLIGHTLY cirtusy cake.

Oh by the way, no Le Male suggestions please.

Hm i've heard that freshest mint is new Guerlain Homme Leau , my friend had privilege to try this one in Slovenia , his impresions are great... I wolud recommend Chanel Allure Edition Blanche , this is exactly what are you looking for ... fresh citrus with beautiful vanilla in drydown ....Second one would be Prada Amber ( my personal favorite ) ...Third would be DSQUARED He Wood ( great mountain freshnes , with a touch of sweetness , great stuff ) .... Joop JUMP ( fresh sweet to ) ....

Pi Fraiche??? Mostly sweet, with a slightly more fresh take on the original.

Heh, I actually have that on my arm right now! I picked up a small sample of it several months back, and just sprayed it on today, which prompted me to make this thread. Still need a few more hours with it, I literally only sprayed it on about 45 minutes ago.

    Cool,

if you're looking for a slightly sweeter fresh vanilla-ey scent, I suggest you try Givenchy Pi Neo

might be generic and what not, but its a nice frag imo

    Fresh vanilla: Fahrenheit 32

    Fresh Tonka: YSL L`Homme

    Minty-fresh: Live Jazz

    Or maybe Kenzo Power?

Aw, and the baby blue jeans

    All more than decent choices.

I have been talking about new Guerlain Homme LEAU , not regular Guerlain Homme ... just tu separate those two ..

    Minty fresh:
Guerlain Homme (not quite as fresh as some others, a bit heavier actually)
    Hugo XY (clear/transparent mint/basil/cotton)

Now, if you want something that matches your thread title.. .vanilla, tonka, and cinnamon, and is still fresh in character you need to check out Carlos Santana for Men. An excellent, sweet and spicy and still light, fresh scent.

Pi Neo is a good recommendation, too, as is Live Jazz.

I've been enjoying Roadster by Cartier this winter. I feel that it is a nice modern mint frag.
I don't see this as being a bad frag for summer either.

+1 - Smelt this first, then Lacoste Essential, was amazed how much the Essential smelt like XY (or vice versa). Nothing Vanilla or Cinnamon about it though.

PdN's Maharadjah, one of my current preoccupations, might be a possibility. It's a sort oriental fougere, I suppose--a very fresh, medicinal lavender note with sharp cinnamon, and enough patch and vanilla to soften it a bit. Not minty but there is a similar sort of aromatic profile to the cinnamon/lavender accord, I think.

I'd also like to recommend Hummer H2 for consideration. I use it quite a bit, taking into account
the size of my collection. I consider it to be a comfortable frag that smells quite a bit more
sophisticated than the actual cost, which is very reasonable.
I detect some cinnamon present here (the note mentioned is actually cinnamon leaves)
I would actually go for this over Dunhill Desire, since it feels lighter and more of a daytime
    inoffensive frag.

I've been searching for the same thing too. Guerlain Homme seems nice on my wrist but when I give it a full wear, it looses all the sweetness and what I'm left off is lemon

+1 Givenchy Pi Neo, I'm currently wearing it. The opening is exactly like Armani Code but the drydown is lighter, less powdery.

I own Lacoste Essential so I know what you mean.

    Fresh yet mildly sweet:-

    Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger
    Angel Schlesser Homme
    Power eau Fraiche by Kenzo

Mildly fresh with a cinnamon twist:-

5 O' Clock Au Gingembre by Serge Lutens

I would recommend Givenchy Pi Neo too, although the longevity is questionable....

But you can always try it out!
