    Un Coeur en Mai
    By Patricia Nicolai
Hyacinth, lily of the valley, petitgrain, bergamot, Bulgarian rose, galbanum, black currant, melon, Moroccan mimosa, Bourbon geranium, black pepper, coriander, musk, and precious woods.

Fresh and cool. I am comparing this to Delrae-Debut to see if it is significantly different. This is a much cooler scent so far. It does seem different from the linden-based Debut. I think the black current has a cooling effect.

    I'm wearing Musc Ravageur today.

Does this improve with age? It seems mellower now than it did a couple of years ago.

    Good thoughts to all!

    Hello everyone!

cello, the Magnolia Nobile is magnificent. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My sotd is Acqua di Parma's glorious Magnolia Nobile.

I love a lot of fragrances, but Magnolia Nobile actually moves me. With this, I've finally found the third of a perfect magnolia triumvirate. I have the more complex and stylized magnolia blend of L'Instant de Guerlain, the ultra-creamy, sweet and warm magnolia bouquet of Avon's Tomorrow, and now this, as close as I've smelled to the real thing, and I am over the moon!

Magnolia grandiflora is the State Flower of Louisiana, my home. It blossoms on one of the most beautiful trees I've ever set eyes on, in or out of bloom. The leaves are amazing, like rich buffed green leather lined with soft brown suede underneath. But the bloom is the star, dazzling in every respect - size, form, color, and a fragrance that could make you weep. I've loved it my whole life. It reminds me of home, and my mother. It's my avatar. Magnolia Nobile is that one - the newly blossomed and breathtaking magnolia grandiflora. Like the other magnolia scents I mentioned, this is also tender and creamy, but with a flourish of cheerful green that keeps it refreshing, and authentic. It has a soft but beautiful sillage, and moderate longevity...but that's of little importance as I'd be thrilled to reapply! Utterly romantic, sweetly enchanting, and simply exquisite.

Five stars. I must have it.

(Pay no attention to the lady behind the magnolia.)

Thanks again to cello for this heavenly slice of home! Y'all have a wonderful day!

30Roses, my sincere condolences on the loss of your father.

Chaya, am sorry to hear about your pet...

    Hugs for RHM & Kewart.

I didn't feel like posting these past days with all that is happening in Greece...
I am sick and tired of hearing the accountant in the office saying how bad the things go, and that we are on the margin and will take no money anymore and there is no solution and, and, and...
Well, Greece may be saved but all the small businesses will sink...

Spring is here, too, and I am wearing
    Eau de Camille .

I hope to always have this scent in my wardrobe - it hits all of the right buttons, when it comes to a patchouli craving.

A quite pleasant scent dominated by grape fruit. I´m tempted to buy a small bottle of this one for summer (if I can´t manage to get a bunch of samples of it from my dealer. Once this kind SA gave me 15 samples of Biagiotti´s Laura Rosé).

    Chanel Eau Fraiche
Citron, Water Hyacinth, Jasmine Absolute, White Musk, Vetiver, Amber, Patchouli, Teak.

The citron's a bit sharp, but it settles down into a pleasant sillage that has been wafting brightly over all the lovely jasmine. A well-balanced jasmine, with the vetiver and patch to give it a little depth. Even the amber feels just right. Chanel knows its stuff!!

Jasmine Hill Gardens in Alabama. I could use a stroll there right about now...

Evangeline, you've got me missing magnolias! Magnolia Nobile sounds stunning!! I'm already a sucker for AdP's Iris Nobile.

Oooh, Kumquat, Un Coeur de Mai sounds breathtaking! Another one to add to the test list.

We could all use some of that spring weather right now.
Gentle hugs for our darlings... and hoping that glorious renewing energy
makes its way to all those in need of it.

Thanks for the recommendation, exquise. me! I'm also working to complete a trio of irises, so that is the very next fragrance I intend to sniff. Needless to say, my expectations are very high!

Tonight, the refreshing Eau de Lalique...

Eau de Lalique by Lalique is a oriental spicy fragrance for women and men. Eau de Lalique was launched in 2003. The noses behind this fragrance are Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann and Jean-Claude Ellena. Top notes are mandarin orange, pimento, bergamot, garden dill, cardamom and lemon; middle notes are cinnamon, hibiscus and freesia; base notes are sandalwood, musk, benzoin and guaiac wood.

    another sample.

Frederic Malle's improbably named Musc Ravageur. If sexy musk is a cinnamon roll then sign me up. Mmmmm... I like this one.

Hello BNers! Still have my virtual arms wrapped around RHM, 30Roses, Chaya, and all you dear folks in a big group bear hug...hope you are all well.

SOTD is FM L'Eau d'Hiver. I feel like I've lost some of my adoration for this one...it's been taking on a slight "synthetic" note or feel to it, reminding me somewhat of the Ormonde Jaynes (brain is functioning on "slow", due to sleep deprivation, I think - I can't remember the name of the chemical this morning). I wore L'Eau d'Hiver happily during the warmest summer months, so perhaps it's just one that works in heat and humidity, as opposed to Hawaiian "winter".

Dora with a heart as good as yours you will always be just fine. I have missed your posts recently so please do 'check in'.

For myself Coco Mademoiselle for daytime. Wearing the strange stuff that is Ava Luxe Midnight Violet for evening. Midnight Violet is both cool and warm at the same time. Ethereal and unusual, it has received very positive comments from friends who usually go for mainstream scents. Wish this one was still in production.
