Jimi- this one has been beaten to death. In addition to the many, many reviews, the "similar threads" box at bottom of page brings up tons of discussions.

It's not super pricey. Sample for yourself and don't get hung up on the reformulation issue.

Paco Sweet thinks it's a masterpiece, IIRC, so that should hold a lot of weight here. Seriously now, perceptions can change over time. I liked it at first but now I'm not so sure (vintage formulation). I don't ever find myself itching to wear it, and that's a bad sign, because I even feel like that about my "super cheapos" at least once a month, usually. It does seem like it's got quality ingredients that are blended nicely, but it may be that it's one of those "I want to smell like a man" frags, which I generally do not like, because they are mostly for other people, rather than the wearer. I will give it a little more time before deciding if I want to swap or sell it.

Sample it first, maybe you think it'll make you feel grown up
or something, but I'm sure you will think it smells grandpa'ish!

There's no reason to put on an age limit on fragrances. Some people like heavier scents, some people like lighter. I don't see why Antaeus (vintage or reformulated) would be wrong for a teen. You might argue that heavier scents require a bit more maturity and sophistication, but I say either you have it or you don't. Regardless of chronological age.

Like Le Male or A*men would smell strange on an 80 year old,
so would Antaeus smell off on a teen ...

I wouldn't be surprised if someone older happened to be wearing a modern scent. Why shouldn't they? Why would it be inappropriate...?

I can certainly understand why someone would be wise to dress age-appropriate, but not why they should smell age-appropriate. Whatever that is... Fragrance doesn't define us in the same direct way as our appearance does.

I guess so, I still think Jimi should test it first.
Antaeus has a huge fanbase, sure, but there
is also a huge group who dislike it very much.
It smells like an old man, to me if not else,
    and very, very out-dated!

But hey, to each his own!

And who am I to speak? I wear more female
    scents, than male ...

I've been wearing Antaeus for the past 4 days. It's warm, dark and wonderful. Way more approachable than Kouros.
