    Exclamation Collaboration Sought.

I would like to seek out the collaborative talents of my friends in fragrance here in order to expand my search for a fragrance unfamiliar to me yet awaiting discovery. Most of you know my tastes in fragrance and my wardrobe is available as a research tool. The undiscovered fragrance can be pour homme or pour femme as long as it is workable for a man. This is no easy task I ask, but it will broaden the scope of talent, research and opinion. For those who choose to help, you have my genuine gratitude. Suffice to say it is just possible we can have some fun. Please post your suggestions and perhaps why you think I should like and adopt the, for me , new fragrance as my own. Right! There you have it my dear perfumists. The game is afoot.

    BIG PLUS ONE---

Dang, N Tesla, you're usually the one with the great recommends. Well I'm game to try - I know you like Theorema, and T Esprit D'ete, so you would also like T Leggero, I 'll bet. Have you smelled that?

Mauboussin Homme- extremely different from the femme version. lavender based . Check out foetidus review.
Was going to say Encre Noir, but you've got it already.

Hi there! I have a question for you, and depending on your answer, I may have a few suggestions. Do you have a tolerance for well-done aquatics and aquatic florals?

Haunani; I keep an open mind to all venues of fragrance. Aquatics is an area I have not really explored substantially so, your suggestions will be appreciated.

Thinking about the warmer days ahead...

I see that you like ambers, and one that I find special is Stephanie de Saint-Aignan's Embruns d'Ambre. It combines the warmth of a lovely amber note with the cool fragrance of the sea.

Another that you might enjoy trying, seeing that melon is apparently not a negative for you (you rated Apres la Mousson four stars), is i Profumi di Firenze's Brezza di Mare, an aquatic fragrance that includes a delectable watermelon note.

I could send you samples of both. If they sound interesting to you, just PM me!

This is a tricky one,but I suggest you try Czech and Speake # 88, Prada Infusion d'iris (female version) and also Bois d'iris. If you haven't already tried Samsara (in edp) and Dolce Vita I suggest you try them as well.

I agree with inneespenes re. the iris suggestions and Dolce Vita.

I looked at your wardrobe again D, and perhaps you coud try Carons ?
How about a bit of Hermes Kelly Caleche too ? It's floral leather .............iris, lily of the valley, mimosa, tuberose and rose.

mysticknot; I have tried Hermes Kelly Caleche and like it, but it seems a bit linear. As for Iris fragrances; excellent note that I like very much.

I'm recommending mainly chypre's because Mitsouko may be the Queen, but it's still fun to have knights and damsels at court.

    Ungaro Diva--rose and honey chypre
EL Azuree--soft and mossy green leather chypre
Lanvin Arpege (pour femme)--classic spicy floral aldehyde (not at all like Arpege pour Homme, but you do like that and the spices remind me of Mitsouko)
Chanel in general but especially Antaeus, No. 5, No. 22, No. 19, Eau Premiere, Sycomore, and Coromandel
    Halston Z-14--fabulous dry leathery chypre
    Givenchy Gentleman--patchouli chypre
Opium--spicy and sweet oriental (and newly reformulated so time to stock up)
Zino Davidoff (a newly discontinued classic for your archives)
    Bal a Versailles--animalic oriental
    AdP Profumo--simply gorgeous
    Safari edp--dry green floral chypre
    I offer you perfume,
    More for its pleasure than for yours;
    You perfume perfume.

If anyone is qualified to recommend, based solely on the depth of scent wardrobe, it's our Hillaire! Sehr gut!

Oh... and I can wholeheartedly recommend Chanel Sycomore.

Hillaire; I have read with interest your comments regarding Sacrebleu and will try this. I have Theorema and Theorema Esprit d'ete both of which I very much enjoy. It is too bad they are both discontinued. You are the second to advise Party in Manhattan so, on the list to sample it goes. Thank you for your advise.

sean-dt; Djedi is a difficult fragrance to come by here, but it is a Guerlain so I must purchase a sample of this one. So far only two Guerlains have not found favor with me; Jicky and Mouchoire de Monsieur. It is the civet that causes me an irreconsilable loss of devotion.

    Baghari
    by Robert Piguet

    Notes:
bergamot, neroli, violet, aldehydes, jasmine, orange blossom, rose, iris, vetiver, amber, musk, vanilla

Given your love of the Guerlains you should try some of the Micallefs. There's some similarity in the treatment of vanilla/tonka and musk. Recommend Aoud Vanille for starters. There's a slightly medicinal note and wonderful, just on the edge of gourmand, vanilla. Try Gaiac too - creamy, spicy woods.

As you like Apres l'Ondee and Barbara Bui, try ELdO's Charogne. Not the same feel at all - this one's huge and indolic but the heliotrope is very similar and the drydown is floral, incensy and musky.

N_Tesla, my recommendations for you would be:

Nuit Noire & Chamarré by Mona di Orio, and
17/17 Homme and Shooting Stars Modoc by XerJoff.

OOH,N_Tesla! I knew you liked Theorema, and it made me think you should try Accenti, but then I wrote Theorema... because it was on my mind!

Actually lots of folks have way more stuff than I... I have like three hundred plus, but I think lots here have closer to 1000.

I looked at your wardrobe and would suggest:
    Jolie Madame by Balmain
    Cabochard by Gres
    Verte Violette (Artisan Parfumeur)
    Canoe by Dana

All of them are original, unusual and might suit your refined taste.

You really ought to try Ajne Savoir if you never have.

PdN New York, Odalisque and aforementioned Sacrebleu.
By Kilian Taste of Heaven (Caron PH given a luxe 'Guerlain-edish' treatment by Kilian)
Possibly Amouage Dia Woman . . . and Gold Man while you're in the neighbourhood.
++ on AdP Profumo & Chanel Coromandel

Please try some of the Eau d'Italie line - Sienne l'Hiver, Paestum Rose
    or Baume des Doges.
You might also like L'Homme de Coeur or L'Homme Sage by Divine.
I think they both send out samples (not sure about to the USA!)
My favourite masculine is Dior Homme - it is truly beautiful.
You have got to test Eau Sauvage just once in your life - if you haven't already.
