while the fahrenheit might be descriped pretty good, Black Jeans I would classify as a dark, woody fougere I think. I dont get much musk.
Funny enough, I'm wearing it right now

Both are original enough not to be replaced equally but if you like Black Jeans, Bulgaris black might be worth a try.

Kenny, I like your taste. Both Fahrenheit and Versace Black Jeans smell good and interesting. I'm currently pondering bottles of both. Most likely the Dior for sure, just because it lasts better. I'm worried it is too much of a sillage monster, so I am hesitating at the moment.

I don't know what categories these 2 fall under, although I think that Q has been answered.

Now, call me crazy, but I feel that Encre Noire from Lalique smells similar to Black Jeans. Both seem to share the haitian vetiver note, which I feel is very prominent in both.
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Nicole Miller (vintage), Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge...etc.

Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Cacharel Nemo, Bijan for Men EDC, Lanvin for Men, Giorgio VIP, Il Lancetti and other old school frags ....etc. I have samples to swap.

Am I the only one that smells nothing but kerosine / gasoline from Fahrenheit?

Alexbro, I know that there are others that smell Fahrenheit just as you do. Who knows, I guess different people smell the same fragrance different. I don't see Fahrenheit so much that way. I like it. Perhaps smelling Knize Ten ruined my sense of smell

On myself (inside 2-4 feet) that is all I get too. Up close I smell individual notes that totally smell like gasoline. From a distance though, with everything blending together, I think this one smells great. So the end result, I would like to smell it on someone else. But definitely not on myself.

To me, strictly from a non-expert point of view, both of them come quite close (without being totally identical) to the "dark powerhouse frag"-concept

According to THE H&R GENEALOGY of MASCULINE FRAGRANCES 11

Black Jeans is a woody chypre
whereas Fahrenheit is a leathery fresh chypre.

    Exactly!
I find Fahrenheit quite unique from 25 years ago, and everytime I wore it my friends diagnosed and named it immediately!
