Default Fragrances you like now that you used to dislike.

We all have certain colognes that we didn't care for at first and then grew on us and we came to like them later on. What are some of yours?

I've said a few times that Michael Kors for men is such a one.

Another is Mister by Jasper Conran. If this was put out by Amouage it would be hailed as a masterpiece. But it's not. And I don't care, I absolutely love it. Really avante guarde for a mainstream fragrance, a bit spiky but delicious with it. I didn't like it at first, but I am just about through with my initial 50ml bottle and will be buying a 100ml to replace it.

Some of my favorites! Good examples are L'Arte di Gucci, Aoud Cuir d'Arabie, and Fracas - I didn't just dislike these, they were scrubbers! Now, I love them.

Muscs Koublai Khan and L'Air de Rien. Probably my two favorites, but didn't get them when I first tried.

Blind bought Gucci Pour Homme I several months ago, and I read many reviews of it before I bought it, which was a mistake, because all I thought about was the pencil shavings that people kept saying. I've since gotten over that though and love it. Spicy, sweet, woody, mature, great cold weather fragrance.

Chanel Antaeus was one I did a 180 on. Couldn't stand it at first, but now the only way you'll take it from me is from my cold dead hands. Makes me wonder how I'll feel about vintage.

    At first they were like:

Kyoto (stale coffee), Bigarade Concentree (ewww dirty orange), Chergui (musky old woman), Gaiac 10 (boring incense), Eau Noire (maple curry)....

    But now they're like:

Kyoto (dark temple incense), Bigarade Concentree (sexy dry orange), Chergui (sweet tobacco and hay), Gaiac 10 (smokey haiku), Eau Noire (holy grail material).

L'Air du Desert Marocain. I didn't like it at all when I first tried it and even made a comment sometime last year about how suffocating I thought it was. After repeated wearings, though, I have come around to actually loving it. I'm still using the same sample (you only need a little of this one), but I think eventually I'm going to buy a bottle.

Just recently I have learned to love Shalimar and Terre d'Hermes.
If fragrance has a gender, so does all art.

    Antaeus
    Bvlgari Aqua

as a side note, when I first started getting into personal fragrances, I probably wouldn't like half the stuff I like now. As I got more into it, I learned to appreciate a wider variety of fragrances.

I tried Vintage Tabarome several years before I joined BN. After a few months, tried it again and it's my number one.

My biggest surprise is Guerlain SDV. At first I found it too simple and not masculin enough for my taste. But after a few tests, I even love it so much more than Tom Ford TV. The best vanille scent that I've ever known.

The most striking examples for me are:

    Bel Ami
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui

Used to hate them. Now I love them.

Starting to increasingly rediscover Dior Homme, after firstly not standing it

Also, while I did not hate it, I was never so thrilled about Knize Ten as I am now
