Claiborne for Men by Liz Claiborne and Gaultier2 by Jean Paul Gaultier SHOWER GELS

I used to own Claiborne for Men many, many years ago and I loved it's sharp ozonic nose tingle so I'm hoping the shower gel succeeds in impressing me. Plus I've heard good things about the Gaultier2 shower gel, as the EdP is just too strong for me to wear but the soap seems like it will be toned down a bit more.

Frederic Malle - Carnal Flower (50 mL)

One of only 3 or 4 fragrances that I've had any interest in purchasing lately. Next, and possibly last for a great while: a great patchouli - perhaps Farmacia SS Annunziata or Montale. After that, a long hiatus from full bottle purchases, I think.

=D I knew I got lucky with this one! I just wore some for the evening and it is very herbal, very earthy, soil-like, moist and smooth patchouli. There is a slight "heaty" feel to it - the sensation when you smell a heat rub - just mildly. This should cure any need for patchouli, I'm loving this one so far!

I won this one earlier this month - at what I believe was a very decent price (and about 10£ less than my final bid ). It showed up in the mail last week. Getting a photo (using my mobile phone) was the next challenge.

My dilemma now is whether / when I will have the nerve to break the seal.

Oh how wonderful for you! Yes, even the seal string is beautiful. But you need to wear it! And I think it will last a long time for you!

OMG - my heart skipped a beat when I saw this. I'm insanely jealous. I have only worn the parfum twice (from a generous sample from a kind soul here on BN) and it's really wonderful. Sort of like a less sweet Quand Vient la Pluie, but with a muted lightness coming from within. As if one of those Monet paintings of gardens, grasses and haystacks were bottled into a smell. Wow. Enjoy it in good health!

Thanks, Mike. With all this nudging, I'm really looking forward to the experience! I might need some tips (perhaps from Mr. G) on how to open it without ruining the ribbons, lol - not to mention advise on how to apply it - like, should it be splashed / dabbed or sprayed(?). I have a small sample of the EdT but I've been under the impression that wearing the parfum will be different. I had been on the lookout for a sample of Quand Vient la Pluie so it will be interesting to know what kind of scent territory it occupies.

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for.
