Default Looking for a Male/Masculine Fragrance with GARDENIA

I want to explore the idea of a male/masculine fragrance with Gardenia as a prominent note and possibly Musk as well.

It can be unisex, but it should be unquestionably so if it is.

    Any ideas?

Oh, by the way... so far Creed's "Fleurs de Gardenia" looks the most interesting. In fact, the negative review on there that says there was a "predominant bitter note to it that smells like someones sweat" actually makes it sound more interesting, to be honest. Sounds like the Musk note I was talking about above. I don't see Musk in the list of notes, so maybe it's the Ambergris?

Anyway, interesting as it may be, The Perfumed Court is selling a 50ml Leather Atomizer of this for $650.00, so.... excuse my french, but fuck that. I'd rather stand under a leprotic cow and wait for him to cover me with a torrent of urinous disease.

Neil Morris makes a fragrances called Flowers For Men: Gardenia. Honestly, I really don't like it, but some here do.

In general, I think your options are fairly limited ( and this is coming from someone who's a mad lover of gardenia, and has tried just about every one on offer ). You might be better to just give the gardenias on offer a go and see which ones "fit", if any. There are very few "true" renditions of gardenia on the market in my opinion, especially compared to what's on offer with tuberose and jasmine.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what does "on offer" mean? I have not heard that term yet.

No problem - I meant from the selection of fragrances currently on the market; what's being sold. There are a few ultra-rare ( like the above Creed ) or discontinued fragrances I haven't had access to.

Well, you could try Santa Maria Novella Gardenia. It is listed as a feminine frag (which means nothing), but honestly it is not my cup of tea because it's VERY green and cologne-ish (if that's a word), not too sweet at all.

Don't forget Bijan's Nude for men...Its subtle citrus followed by buckets of gardenia and finished off by woods and musk. Very nice...

How about Chanel's Gardenia? To my nose, the Chanel line is asexual, abstract and beautiful.

I am stumped, but can recommend Richard James EDT as a nice tuberose.

VG is a very EXTREME gardenia, but I think this is a great suggestion.
