Default Millesime Imperial vs. Unforgivable Multi-Platinum longevity

I love both of these fragrances with Millesime Imperial being my favorite of the two but definitely prefer the other price. Although, what it comes down to for me is the longevity and projection somewhat.

Between the two, which one has better longevity? Also, how does the projection compare?

I'm sorry, but I absolutely refuse to buy anything from Sean Combs. His blatant plauguerizing of Creed frags is simply put, "unforgivable." (sorry - couldn't resist).

I don't like him either but I don't want to dish out the cash for MI if the longevity is that much worse than his offering.

Has he ever officially stated that he ordered David Apel to copy Millesime Imperial with cheaper ingredients? I know it's a common conception here on Basenotes, probably grown from the fact that he did state that he likes to wear Millesime Imperial himself.

And anyway, if you take the music business as an example, many popular and less popular songs use the same 4 chords to produce a 'different' song. People seem to be okay with that either.

Also, I'm not sure whether plagiarizing Creed frags is correct. As far as I know only Unforgivable (for men) has some tendencies to Millesime Imperial. I like both scents, but prefer the denser qualities of MI. Would love to give Unforgivable Multi Platinum a go.

not sure about multi-platinum, but unforgivable doesn't have half the longevity that imperial does. both smell great though.

The longevity is roughly the same, Multi-Platinum lasts far longer than original Unforgivable.
but the latter half of Multi-Platinum is sweeter and duller than MI.
MI retains a very interesting salty-brisk-tart profile for it's duration, even when the richer base notes are present.

Millesime Imperial only lasts about an hour on my skin before it becomes very barely detectable. Unforgivable gives me at least 3-4 hours. I like the smell of MI more but its longevity is one of the worst I've experienced.

So, how much of a difference is between Unforgivable and the Multi-Platinum version?

Multi-Platinum lasts about twice as long, more intense citrus and slightly spicer drydown. An overall more intense version of UNforgivable that smells more natural and with an added floral note.

Yes I have and for some reason I cannot stand that fragrance, it just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Hip hop artists are notorious for ripping other artists off---big time. Some get taken to court over it, some don't. Says a lot about the genre, IMO (crap). P-Diddy started out in the hip hop industry, which is why I make this point. Hence, I would argue that a logical conclusion would be that being the ruthless business man that he is, coupled with his background, he would more than likely have a diminished business ethic and be quite comfortable putting his name on someone else's creation---or even paying someone to do it for him. I am not surprised in the least.

A business man posing as an artist. tsk tsk. I'd be floored if he could draw anything remotely resembling a round circle. He'd pay someone else to draw it.

Did you guys get the reference? Golly, am I clever or what? Duh-hyuk!

That being said, I wouldn't have a problem TRADING for a bottle of Unforgivable MP, I just wouldn't pay for it and I wouldn't tell people who asked me what it was if they smelled it. Hah! Have at you, Pee Diddy Piddle Puddle!

Comparing these is like comparing a Steak at a top restraunt to a burger from McD's. They both do the same thing in principle (i.e. make you smell good) but after wearing for half an hour you'll soon find out the difference between the two. Im lucky, I seem to get 15 hours+ from MI (from top to base) but Unforgivable exposes it's self for the cheap cash in that it really is after a couple of hours.

IMO if you like MI, save the cash for it. It's worth it.

I'd venture to say that rock musicians are the absolute king of ripping off others. Every guitar rift that people declare are original and belong to whomever really don't. "You ain't nothin' but a Hound Dog" to whomever you might worship, they stole music, techniques and so forth from others.

    Artists, same way.
"Good artists borrow, great artists steal" - Pablo Picasso
"Good poets borrow, great poets steal" - T.S. Elliot

Even something like that was stolen. And how so many houses have basically stolen from each other of the decades... and you people wish to say that only hip hop artists steal? You're delusional. I'd say read more about fashion designs being stolen, or trade secrets being stolen before looking at one (rather bothersome) chap that happens to be in a genre of music that you more than likely dislike or have little respect for before labeling the entire lot as habitual rip-off artists.

Shows a very limited and myopic view of the world.

MI's longevity and lack of development makes it a deal breaker. The opening is amazing, the first 30min-1 hour is great. After that..it's so boring and even that seems to fade quickly, doesn't develop.

Sad because I was about to jump on a bottle. I still want to, but I don't think it's wise I should. I was using a sample vial for days now, but I've tested it in stores from a bottle twice, same story but the somewhat boring mid notes and base notes lasted a little longer (an hour or so). Still nothing to shout about for $250 or even $150 discounted (IMO).

Even the hand I sprayed Original Veviter on that was hanging out the window on the drive back home was at least 2 times stronger and lasted a good hour longer than the hand that was inside the car with MI sprayed on it. Too bad I don't care for OV too much (Way too linear).
