Default Fragrance organizing obsession.. Is it just me?

Sometimes I'll fidget around with my collection and move stuff. But somehow I always find myself re-organizing everything. And doing it over, and over, and over again. I keep telling myself "OK I'm not gonna move them around anymore" especially after wasting a good 10-20 minutes doing this, but a week later.. I'm right back at it. Ironically my buddy who I got into fragrances, does the same thing, so I don't feel as crazy.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this obsession. Mind you that my room is often messy.. so I'm not like a neat freak or anything, but my fragrances have to be "just right".

Hahaha, I am the same way. I love to fiddle with my collection.

I also collect action figures, especially He-man and Star Wars
    ... yeah, I'm a semi-geek, so?! I have some 300 loose ones,
now, I do not play with them, of course, but I looove re-arranging
them too. My way of 'playing', I guess!
My carded figs are on the wall and under the bed, so I do not touch them!

Nice on the action figs too. I can totally relate because I collect WWE Figures, more specifically the WWE Deluxe Aggression which have been discontinued now. There's a custom built shelf around my room that displays them, sometimes I even take them down and play with them lol.. ehh but whatever, I have no shame. But once I put them back on the shelf, it's not a major obsession like with the frags.. I can put all 200 of them back up in 10 minutes without feeling so obsessed.

I don't have a lot of space to work with. I usually just leave them in the spots that are easiest to reach according to how often I use certain ones.

    Maybe it's anti-OCD? (more like lazy-ness, lol)

I am constantly moving fragrances around to try to keep houses together, but it gets increasingly difficult with so many.

I have mine tagged by house in smallish Zip-loc freezer bags that are stood upright in a large shopping bag inside of a cardboard box that I keep closed in my walk-in closet. Yes, I too find myself constantly reorganizing (and re-zipping) my samples.

Speak it softly...but I am building an army.

As I tend to be "borderline obsessive" about cleaning up my flat and my room anyway (though they both tend to sink into an "artistic chaos", once in a while), it is thus almost inevitable that I tend to move, relocate, reorganize, categorize, inspect my frag collection, although in an unprofessional way, simply because it takes up too much of my living space to be overlooked

O C D you need Prozac in your life and probably a Ritalin chaser just for fun

Click my wardrobe icon. I've purchased furniture for it and wired it with lighting that's all controlled by a foot switch. It gets minor rearrangements frequently and overhauled now and then. Now that is an obsession, but fun to play with.

    It's not me.

I keep my bottles in their boxes, and they are only very partially organized on various shelves in 5 different closets and on top of several pieces of furniture. And part of my collection is in a different physical location altogether.

I need to get better organized!

I'm actually the opposite. My collection is very disorganized. I use various drawers and cabinets and often have bottles on my desk or nightstand too. I really want to get them organized but in general I'm not a very organized person.

My full bottles and decants are organized, but I don't re-organize them much at all. They fit - and it works for me.

Now, my ever expanding sample collection, is a totally different story. They are incredibly disorganized. It sometimes takes me about 30 minutes to find a sample I'm looking for, if I want to find a particular one. I can't wait to come up with a solution for those.

Come to think of it, I *have* been watching old seasons of Monk recently and I find myself constantly washing my hands and brushing my teeth, too...

I organize chronologically by purchase date. No clue why...
If fragrance has a gender, so does all art.

I have a modest collection of 10 fragrances that I store on the top shelf of my DVD/CD storage unit. It's a little different but works well, especially with my liquor bottles on the the very top of the case itself (I mean cosmetically, not because they have "alcohol" in common, lol). I keep the colognes with boxes on the left, the ones without on the right. The ones that belong to the same designer are next to each other. The atomizers are placed near their respective scents, most in different colors so I don't accidentally grab the wrong one on the way out the door. I move things around a little at times so that each brand I own can be seen for the most part, except for Ambre which is nearly gone and first to go to make room if I get something else.

I'm glad to see these posts, because if I told this stuff to anybody I know they would think "WTF". But hey, given what we pay for these, why not display them the way we see fit?

Not being a "neat freak" doesn't disqualify you from having OCD

I don't see how the fragrances get so disorganized.

Step 1: Pick up the bottle
Step 2: Put the bottle back
