Oh what a shame! I love CdÉ, it changes on me according to the weather.

Today I'm wearing Michael Kors. This is ALWAYS too heady, and I love it for that.

Accidentally, Cartier's Baiser Du Dragon. I was looking through some old samples, fiddled with the cap and got a facefull. So I'm going with it!

top notes: bitter almond, neroli, gardenia
mid notes: iris, cedar, musk, bulgarian rose
base notes: vetiver, patchouli, benzoin, amber

I keep waiting to grow into this. The notes are fantastic and push all the right buttons but there's something about it that just doesn't fit me yet.

Hey Quarry...you are most welcome! I tried the Jasmine, Iris & Charmes but had to return all three because the notes had gone "off" enough that scent was no longer pleasant. I think we got the best of the bunch, the SdV & my Rose Poivree.
To let the rest of you "in" on this, a store close to me is dumping their TDC stock. I was going to post contact info but turns out, most of it had gone bad, so I couldn't in good faith pass the info along. The also have a few Rosines but they too smell right on the borderline.

So...what to wear today? The temperatures are going to be recordbreakingly hot....mid 80's. So what does one wear to the radiology department of the hospital in hot weather?
Here's what I'm considering: SL Fleurs du Oranger, Rosine's Rose d'Ete, ELd'O Rossy De Palma (eau de protection, I like that), L'Artisan THE Pour Une Ete, Ava Luxe The Noir or Chanel #19 edt or parfum.

Let me know what you think. I leave in an hour for the hospital.

I'm going with MPG Fleur d'Iris today. This has a very green opening, then drying down to an almost slightly vanillic iris. Some may find it boring, but I always just feel like I smell good wearing this. Also, I use it for office meeting days where I don't want to smell too perfumy

Good day all! Today I'm in Balmain Jolie Madame. I have a vintage formulation that was marketed as a fragrance "mist" for skirt hems, curtains, pillows (skirt hems!) and although it's not the perfume per se, I can still find great differences in the modern and vintage. The vintage is rounder, the modern more angular. I prefer the vintage but I still love the modern.

Starting the morning trying a sample of Dior Pure Poison edp AGAIN...well, as much as I want to love it, I only like it.

One teeny tiny itty bitty spritz to one wrist and I feel like it is wearing me. Plus on my skin, I get a bizarre cool almost aquatic note from it, which is the deal breaker. It's nice, just not for me. Oh well, moving on...

Happiest of Birthdays to Miss Chaya --

Well, the big earth mover machine came this morning to dig out the foundation for the new house. They say that the foundation will be finished before the end of the week. Hopefully we'll be in our new house within about 30 days or so from now.

Last night, blissfully wore the trashy Parisienne to bed.

This morning, started the day in EL Private Collection. I should wear this more often!

    Happy Birthday Chaya!

And I'm very glad to hear RHM's great news.

I promised myself I won't become one of those mothers who thinks their kid is Einstein, Mozart, and the Dalai Lama all wrapped up into one, but yesterday the Pod and I had a very long and tiring day of browsing furniture stores up in Fremont and seeking out Ross stores along the peninsula for a few more inexpensive, maternity clothes (clothes that fit, ahh!). He was reasonably active after we got home late last night (he seems to bounce around more in the late evening), but really got going this morning as I was waking up. I've been hoping he'd soon be vivacious enough for DH to feel, and this morning he was! I said, "Come on, give a good kick for daddy!" and in a minute or two, "POP!" What a good boy!

I know just about every woman on earth gets to be pregnant at least once, but I really had no idea how *amazing* it is. I'm absolutely loving it and I feel so very, very blessed!

edit: Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm sampling Burberry London at the moment. A bit too fresh for my taste. I think I'll shower and go find a big floral to wear this afternoon.

I've been sampling Manoumalia again today for the third time, because I don't understand why I don't love it. Brilliant creation but I've finally decided it's really not me at all. My ten year old nephew didn't like it either. He loved Bois de Violette though. That lad has excellent taste already !

Sarassins by Serge Lutens (from a sample)

Still not sure, if this usurps A La Nuit, in full-on-jasmine-love...still, it's pretty darn good. Dark jasmine. Sort of what I wanted Jasmine de Nuit by TDC to be.

    Happy Birthday Chaya!!!!

Happy Birthday, Chaya! I didn't realize that we were born in the same year. '54 was a good one!

I'm in Eau de Cartier for now.

I'm so touched by your words, girl. We celebrate the co-mingled “yous.”

Leesee, I'm keeping your post with that cake picture up on my monitor until my daughter comes home so she can see that beautiful thing.

    Happy Birthday Chaya!

Glad the procedure went well RHM...

This evening, after a Week of Guerlain day in vintage Guerlain Vetiver, I'm giving the slightly warmer Guerlain Vol de Nuit another try. It's a vintage EDT and may have "faded"... but whatever, I think I'm beginning to understand it a little more. Tomorrow, a day in either VdN or Shalimar (probably Shalimar)...
