    Smile Coconut fragrance?

    Hello!

Does someone know a good fragrance which has a nice sweet, non powdery coconut smell? Maybe something in the lines of the malibu liquor? I've already tried & bought Yves Rocher Noix de Coco but i find it a little bit too feminine and powdery in the drydown for my tastes..

    Thanks!

You will also find that a good fig scent has a coconut-like note. Eg., Diptyque Philosykos, Hermes Jardin Mediterranee.

Matt, that sounds very exotic. I must try that sometime.

I don't get any coconut from Set Sail St. Barts.. rather a pure mixture of lime and tequila -- tropical yes, but no coconut. I do however get a coconut accord from Realities by Claiborne, but it is a bit cloying and somewhat powdery. To me Realities comes off as coconut and lemon in the opening, the lemon diminishes into the middle and it becomes a subtle coconut then falls into a woodsy and slightly cedar base.

You may like some fig-centric fragrances, which often smell of coconut. One mentioned already is Marc Jacobs, I've never smelled it so I can't comment on that one. But two of my favorites are Diptyque Philosykos and Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi.

    I'm surprised you mentioned it!
... because I thought I was the only one to get a coconut vibe from it. I don't recall coconut being listed in the notes, but I detect it nonetheless.

If you don't mind wearing something with a silly name and silly bottle, try the Exact Friction of Stars by Pillar and Lucy. It's exactly what you're looking, a non powdery coconut, creamy, gourmandish, slightly boozy. Makes me think of coconut ice cream. It reminds me also of a sweet that is made of a jelly scented coconut, called maria mole. I don't if there is a translation for this, but the sweet is this one:

If you can, try Exact Friction. I know that you'll not regret.

Mtgprox, i got really surprised when I tried to translate the name of the sweet and discovered that there wasn't a translation. It's something so easy to do, but so delicious if you like coconut...

Well, the creator of the thread didn't specified if he only wanted male fragrances. And if it's already difficult to find something like this on the feminine aisle, on the masculine one is almost impossible. A sweet, creamy and liqueurish coconut is what you get from Exact Friction of Stars. Femine or Masculine are only labels, what really matters is the juice, which is gourgeous in this case.

I'll definitely look up a recipe and try it out. It sort of reminds me of a Hostess Snowball, though that has a chocolate cake inside with a creme filling. The outside is marshmallow and coconut. Damn, it's too late to be getting this hungry!

I agree, and if it can be pulled off by a guy I would even wear it as long as it isn't super-duper feminine.

The problem is a lot of guys would have a hard time going somewhere to buy something that looks like this (much less letting their friends see it on their dresser or whatever).

Thanks again for all the great suggestions! I indeed forgot the tell if i wanted male fragrance suggestions only. The only thing that was important is that it doesnt smell like a typical girl parfume.. unisex alike isnt a real problem. Im already looking into the suggested non-niche fragrances... Really strange to find out that good muscelene coconut smells are so rare.
