Default About wonderful and inexpensive Denim cologne...

Guys, I wanna share this with you ... I have just recently got Denim/original edt by Conter... at the beginning I was a bit suspicious about this cheap cologne sprayed on myself... but man... ladies go wild when they smell it on me... I have just started to date a new beautiful lady... (she wears Gucci rush)... we have already had a very very good time together... She also complimeted my smell... I haven't told her yet it was just a cheap Italian cologne ... OK, for the noses in a laboratory, the cologne of course is a bit one dimensional... more linear than those designers or niche scents... but ultimately, in a real life it still smells sophisticated, manly, sexy, and even expensive... and obviously works very well on me... longevity of cologne is better than decent... I will stay with this cheap cologne at least for a while, and maybe even take a look at some other cheap men fragrances... As for men clothes, grooming, colognes... I like the concept and idea of maintaining high standards while still on the very low budget ...

What a coincidence ! Bought two days ago the edt Denim and I had a smile on my face when I smelled it again, after 25 years...
Indeed, a pleasant, soapy en leathery scent, clean and comftable to wear..

Sometimes it s a blessing, wearing something 'cheap'.. But that doesn't mean less !

Now Denim is standing in my wardrobe besides all the great ones !

I m curious about the reaction of the ladies though !...:-)

Thanks for putting dis on the board Moshe !

I saw a shelf full of Denims earlier today, for the first time I might add. I'm surprised someone actually started a thread on Denim colognes.

    Welcome to Basenotes Moshe,
I used Denim in the 70s...what a wonderful scent. I actually remember what it smelled like. Enjoy and keep posting.

I used to wear Denim Musk after shave a lot.
Unfortunately, almost impossible to find in the USA.
So, I brought a bottle with me every time I went to visit family in Belgium.
Recently I found the EDT of Denim Musk.
    Good stuff...

A distributor told me that they are considering launching Denim in the USA.

I can only refer you to the word's of the esteemed Enaed Nitram :
"It is said of Captain Bunty Fortescue-Smythe, the intrepid English explorer, who liked to travel light, that he would frequently tell his companions: "A chap should be ready to travel anywhere in the Empire at a moment's notice, carrying only a small suitcase containing a revolver, a set of clean underwear, and a bottle of Denim aftershave!"
Whilst he was regaling his cronies in his London club one day with this customary bit of advice, someone saw fit to remark: "It seems to me, Bunners, old fellow, that a chap would be better equipped with a fragrance from one of the traditional British gentleman's houses, such as Trumper, Truefitt & Hill or Taylor of Old Bond Street. Surely Denim is a fragrance for oiks, cads and Yanks?"
"A common misunderstanding," replied Bunty in clipped tones. "In spite of its fleeting and inexpensive nature, Denim is a miracle of subtle blending, and seems to function as some sort of ambassador of universal goodwill. Any chap who wears it, in any part of the globe, may be assured of a warm welcome as a clean, fresh, decent, honest and manly fellow. It has won me friends from the Arctic to the heart of Africa. The only drawback is that the womenfolk seem to appreciate it even more than their menfolk and, on more than one occasion, I have been regrettably forced to use my revolver on some jealous johnny foreigner."

    So there you have it.

Anyone knows of anything similar to this Denim cologne?

I used the shaving cream today.

My guess is that Bogart Signature is something similar, but would like to hear more opinions.

    Thanks!

Denim is the Axe of the 70/80ies. Back then, every boy who wanted to smell like a man wore it. Me included!

Cool. The most important thing is you wear fragrances that you like. I also like the idea of getting something of high quality for a fair price too, who wouldn't. Don't let price dictate what you will enjoy.
