My hair stylist told me a while back that the more expensive salon formula shampoos are not as detergenty as drugstore shampoos, that they are designed with a pH that is more suitable for hair, not to mention all the other conditioning stuff that goes in. She said that Suave's Naturals line has a pretty good pH balance for hair, though, of the really cheap brands. Sometimes I skip shampooing and wash with water and conditioner only.

Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is really good for removing buildup. It's for weekly use only, but it's a good treatment.
    It costs roughly $7.99 CDN
