Amen, brother -- my thoughts exactly. Personally, I consider it proof that Serge Lutens has been a complete fraud all along. :-)
Thread: My 2 cents on Serge Lutens L'Eau |
Just received my sample of Serge Lutens L'eau.
It's nothing special. In fact it's a disappointment.
I can see why they released it in a larger 100mL size, at a generally lower price, called L'Eau - the concentration is just that: watered down. It lasted on my skin for about half an hour, then the affair was over.
It is fortunate, because the only thing I can compare this to is the cheap gas station colognes for under $10, or perhaps "Cool Water" from your local drug store. Take one of those, vastly dilute it and you'll have L'Eau.
Aside from being weak, the fragrance itself is very one-dimensional. It doesn't play any tricks, or reveal secrets as the day continues (it's gone too soon anyway). It's not rare or unusual. No hidden gems, no layers to speak of. Just a simple "here's a smell". And it happens to be a cheapo common smell I've encountered in many other places.
Even my laundry detergent is more interesting.

Agreed- I tried L'eau too- nothing special, totally non memorable.
Petty small minded people have no place in my life.
Right, of no interest to me either! I think it might be more the issue of what coming up with next since it is all been done already...
