Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

it's a public holiday here in Sweden today, which is why I'm still lounging about in my dressing gown, unscented. I've decided to wear the same scent I wore yesterday Kingdom by Alexander McQueen. It's so gorgeous and sexy!
Again, the kitties and I are heading off to bed (1:35 a.m. here), but I fully intend on wearing Pierre Cardin de Pierre Cardin later this morning.
Good Night and Good Morning, everyone!
A spritz of Victoria Secret Rapture for me today.

May our dreams sustain us, staving the ravages of aging which only plague if we stagnate...
Today's a holiday here, too = lounging about in pyjamas.
But adorned with Isfarkand by Ormonde Jayne. HEAVENLY.
I am operating within established parameters. How are you?
It is my sweet friend Erika's -- Vinterdroppe's -- birthday. She does not post any more, but I think of her often.
In Hermes Faubourg, 24 Delicate.
Have a nice day, bunch!
Good morning everyone. A public holiday here too. This means I have to stay home and do the editing on the Law assignment. Kind of having tendencies of panic now....Deadline is tuesday and I still don't feel like i've fully understood the assignment Hopefully the two other assignmnets written this year was so good that I'll pass even though this one isn't too good. Hope you all have a nice day Sotd is L by Lolita Lempicka. Needed a comfort scent today!
Amouage Ubar....(from a sample). My favorite-est Amouage.

I finally put on today the sample of SL Ambre Sultan that I got last year at Barneys NY, and Wow! is this good or what? Mmmmm.
The persistent wintry and wet weather has prompted me to reach for the warm and cuddly comfort that is Keiko Mecheri's Loukhoum.....so sublime!

Y'all have a wonderful day!
Hello, you beautiful people. Apologies for my absence. Been trying to earn some nickels doing odd projects, which means dealing with processes which don’t move as efficiently as when working with my clients of longstanding. Whaaaa. Frustration and less playtime for Quarry. For more than 20 years I was an okay breadwinner, now I can’t even collect on work I did six months ago. Okay, enough bellyaching.
Haven’t worn fragrance in a day or two (gasp!), but out-of-town relatives coming in today, so I’m off to the shower and then hope to wow them with some Sabi.
In a world where 6 million people are added each month, every landscape matters.
Carthusia Ligea "La Sirena". It's been a while since I've worn this and I don't know why, it's absolutely lovely with mandarin and opoponax. Kind of like Shalimar's sunnier, more light-hearted sister.
Take care, everyone!
"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain
Whoa, Evangeline! Be still my beating heart...what a pic! Right up my alley.
(((Hugs))) to Quarry. We miss you, but understand of course.
I'm sampling Balmain Ambre Gris this morning. This is very nice.
I hope everyone is having an encouraging day.
Today is Ascension Day, that must be why the national holidays.
It's another busy Thursday (sigh).
I put a light dab of two Estee Lauders on my arms: Youth Dew and Cinnabar to test. Funny, I thought I'd love Youth Dew and would hate Cinnabar, and it seems to be the other way around.
I have no idea what FB I will end up wearing for the busy Thursday today, but I'll have time to think about it!
Have a great day, everyone!
Quarry - huggles for you,sweetness.
You all smell delightful today . Have a lovely day people.
This morning, it's Estee Lauder's Tuberose Gardenia. I want to review some samples I have but this gorgeous silky perfume was just calling my name this morning .
For tuberose - it's Carnal Flower.
For gardenia - it's Estee Lauder's Tuberose Gardenia. It's the perfect slightly green gardenia huffing on the bush .
Going on and on, I know.

Lucky you folks with a holiday! I'm trying AdP Iris Nobile for the second time.
Chanel - Cuir de Russie

fewer aldehydes than the EDT.
There is an initial profusion of florals
and leather and in the end, a buttery
iris and amber combination.
Notes include; orange blossom, bergamot,
mandarin, clary sage; iris, jasmine,
rose, ylang-ylang, cedarwood, vetiver,
styrax, leather, amber, vanilla.

No holiday here, but I did have the morning off. We had no early cases this morning, so my manager asked me to come in late today. I'm wearing Success Is A Job In NY today.
Have a good day, everyone!
I'm wearing a lovely creation by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, Giardini Segreti edp. I's a complex floral that I really enjoy wearing, just so I can experience all of it's personality. Here are the notes:
Top notes: Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Honeysuckle, Italian Neroli
Middle notes: Egyptian Rose Geranium, Gardenia, Grandiflorum Jasmine, Mimosa, Orris, Tuberose Absolute
Base notes: Amber, Ambergris, Galbanum, Musk.
Enjoy the day!
@Quarry, we miss you but certainly understand. Hang in there!
Good morning! Today I'm enjoying Citizen Queen, floral leather, yum.
This morning I was sitting on the bench in my front yard, drinking my coffee, enjoying the wafts of Citizen Queen, and reading basenotes on the iphone (while waiting for my dog, who was also enjoying some sniffing) when the fed ex truck pulled up and a very handsome young man with a beautiful smile handed me a little box from Luckyscent. Life is good...
Enjoy your holiday, to those who have one!
Good luck with your assignment, ineespenes!
I'm sure that Sabi will help you cope, Quarry. (clients not PAYING? Shame on them!)
Guerlain's Iris Ganache
Today I'm Novis' scent twin in Le Temps D'Une Fete. I think I overapplied -- it was a bit airless and haylofty -- but it's dissipated a bit and now it's so lovely, full of golden spring sunlight.

Oooh! And does it smell "barbare"? that makes me think of Musc Kublai Khan ...
I just assumed that "barbare" in that perfume ad meant something like "barbaric" in French! Uncivilized, wild, unbridled, something like that. It doesn't sound like the scent fits my guess, though. I suppose a sophisticated French femme could be barbare in her own way, though.
Today I am wearing my beloved Coromandel. I love all of all the fragrances in my wardrobe, but Coromandel is the only one that I can NOT live without.

SOTD: Bandit EDP
Have a great day, all!
Mysticknot, I love your new "status"? "signature"? whatever you call it, it's one of my favorite arias
I'm wearing Estee Lauder Exotic Pleasures. I've been unimpressed with the entire Pleasures line so far, but Exotic is the one I can wear without much ill effects... without much adoration either. Sounds unclear why I still have my mini -- I guess to figure out what fails to impress me?..
My goodness, this is a classy smelling group! My SotE is Estee Lauder Pure White Linen. I can't stay away from this fragrance for long.
Warum, I like Pleasures Exotic, too. It's my favorite of the Pleasures line. I enjoy the mango note, and there is something in there that also makes me think of Bronze Goddess, some woody note maybe.
Ah, Quarry, don't you just ADORE deadbeat clients? (sigh... ) Well... Today I started out in Habit Rouge EDP (the one w/agarwood in it, yes!) and when I got home I had two boxes sitting at my doorstep, one of 'em with a Turbulences vintage parfum splash (I know... I know... my retirement will at least SMELL great even if I live on rice, but it was SO inexpensive, she whines)... and the lovely Xerjoff Casamorati 1888 Fiore d'Ulivo I WON (happy dance) in cairomerta's drawing. So...after deadheading some roses, and vowing to hold off on the Fiore d'Ulivo until tomorrow, I'm wearing Turbulences this afternoon. Might test Xerjoff Shooting Stars Modoc later tonight after I finish my own freelance graphics work...
(ms mysticknot you're not the only one who goes on and on and on!)

This evening , I am enjoying my sample of Black Gardenia by Michelle Bergman. I don't need my 'gardenia' to be super realistic all the time I guess. I love the drama of this .Now I can pretend that there really are black gardenias somewhere in the world ! *LOL*
Sophi... thumbs up !

Hi! The weened is almost here.
Happy belated birthday to RainDropSparkle!!
I have not been on the forum since Monday and I need to catch up with the SOTD since then. Working late again. Today I wore Douce Amere. I almost panicked when I saw there is less than 1/3 of the bottle left, but then I remembered I bought a back up, whew. Yesterday I wore the new Guerlain Cologne the Parfumier and the day before Angelique Noire from samples. I liked the first blast of Angelique Noire, but the drydown was meh, or perhaps I was too busy to notice it.
checking in late today
SOTD: Acqua Serena by Perlier
SOTE: Barbara Bui Le Parfum
Bandit has amazing staying power. I have been enjoying it all day (12+ hours!). I'm heading off to shower now, but perhaps I'll relax in a big cloud of Bal a Versailles afterwards...
