I've moved back to the midwest recently, and it seems like it hasn't stopped raining since. While I hope that the sun comes out soon, I can't help but think that I might need to explore a few more fragrance options appropriate for grey days. I've been enjoying Encre Noire during this wet spell--just seems to fit. What about you--favorite scents for rainy days?

Anything leathery, tobacco-smelling, musky or gourmand for my wardrobe, to my nose, there are several fragrance notes which are set in a better light as soon as the climate becomes damp and cool

"...The history of perfumery before this subdivision of niche was manufactured, both literally and imaginatively, is a long one, with thousands upon thousands of fragrances. The true fragrance lover takes each fragrance one at a time, and examines it preferably outside of the imaginatively manufactured categories and, in doing so, builds up a steady, informed basis for seasoned comparative judgments based on the sampling and information gathered from such sampling. This is why any one on the board who ever has anything particular interesting to say about fragrances as fragrances rather than as categorical constructs always has an abiding interest and passion for all kinds of fragrances and not just a narrow niche of fragrances. Conversely, the "niche whores," the more and more narrow their interests become, the more and more they mimic the ad copy of the very companies they worship. I know whose posts I like to read..."

I personally don't have a fragrance(s) that I wear specifically for rainy days.

That girl, that bottle, that mattress and me.
I find that [b]Grey Flannel[b] and Narciso Rodriguez for him work especially well on rainy days.
Also, Bulgari Aqua and Six Scents "Wicken 3000", when looking for something lighter/fresher to wear on a rainy day.
Iris Pallida 50ml
Ungaro I 75ml

Ineke Derring-Do is supposedly best for rainy spring days. I have a decant that I wear for those occasions.

Wow - just from the thread title, I thought Encre Noire too.
The first grey rainy day after a warm spell, it just perfectly evoke the mood.
Has everyone checked out my Top 100 Blog??
I like Jontue, of all things, when it's raining. A shot of Demeter Thunderstorm on the ankles for accent, sometimes.
+1 on the Narciso Rodriguez. I also like Krizia Time for rainy days.
Well, REL and Erolfa and Vintage Tabarome stay at 5 stars on a rainy day though they smell nothing alike
-- As does Antaeus.
But the following jump up to 5, imho:
Jacomo de Jacomo
Need I tell you they smell nothing alike?
And, come to think of it, Minotaure by Paloma Picasso and Tuscany/Etruscan by Aramis could probably weather a hurricane, let alone a little rain.
zino davidoff is my favorite for rainy days.
Hermes Equipage, Creed Tabarome Millesime
No specific fragrance for rainy days.
M7, Bulgari Blv, and Burberry London are all good for rainy days. Yes, I do adjust scents to the weather. I have sunny, hot day fragrances, chilly winter day fragrances, etc. And I frequently break my own rules about this, too.
Xeryus Rouge and Jacomo Rouge
Oscar de la Renta pour Lui
Gucci Pour Homme
Jean-Claude Ellena's Ambre Narguilé.
I do like the scent very much but it was a rainy day and for some reason i was getting nauseas (i wore 2 spays to my neck)
Strong scents dont really work for me in rainy days.
Clean Man works nice, 212 Men, the original burberry...and armani mania
A few drops of pure essential oud oil to SOTD are really uplifting.
This thread has 44 posts on exactly the same question and was last added to yesterday. Thought it might help out with ideas.
That girl, that bottle, that mattress and me.
Sycomore by Chanel it's my light on rainy days.
Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire.

Kenzo Power! Kenzo Power!
I basically only wear that one when it rains.
I refuse to sink.
i need to be comforted when it's grey and wet...so it's either l'Heure Bleue or Mitsouko by Guerlain.
Knize Ten !
Original Vetiver, Creed
The whole green theme seems to go okay with wetness.
Oud Wood, Tom Ford
Walk in the forest wearing this on a mildly warm & rainy day -- it's like you're WEARING the forest.
Horizon by Guy Laroche would be beautiful on a crisp rainy day.
Dior Fahrenheit is the best fo winter/autumn rainy days.

When its rainy I love to wear Bvlgari Aqva.
For me the decision is usually based upon what I wore last. I want contrast. Two similar orientals in a row, for example, is something I avoid.

I find myself reaching for L'Artisan's beautiful Passage d'Enfer when it's raining, especially a cool rain.
I also like L'Artisan's Voleur de Roses and CdG's Kyoto when it's wet outside.
One that hasn´t been mentioned so far: Jil Sander Man
i reach for something dark and woody...perhaps Burberry's london or Dior Farenheit. of course you can take the other route and reach for something more bright and lighten the atomosphere around you and reach for a fresh fragrance.
