    Question Gentlemanly Woody Aromatic

I'm looking for a gentlemanly woody aromatic/fougere to add to my collection for day/casual as well as semi-formal wear. I have samples of Floris Elite and GFT Curzon coming. I just got a sample of RL Safari for Men and seem to like that one, but will reserve judgment until I smell the others. Any thoughts on these fragrances or any others I should try?

When I think of "gentlemanly" Esencia Loewe comes to mind.

However, I think it probably leans more towards aromatic chypre than
    aromatic fougere. Gentlemanly nonetheless.

I think you're going to like Floris Elite. I don't own it, but I've got my eye on it after sampling it again recently. It really fits your subject heading.

Bois du Portugal if you haven't tried it already. 'gentlemanly' might be a little difficult to describe but it is a vibe I often associate with smooth, restrained compositions that project modestly. For some reason sweet syrupy orientals seldom make the cut.
