Default Amouage Ciel for Men = Set Sail St. Bart's?

After spritzing Ciel on my wrist tonight, I could have sworn I gave myself an application of Tommy Bahama's Set Sail St. Bart's, albeit with greater longevity and better ingredients.

I don't know about you, but I think I'll stick to my $20 bottle of St. Bart's over the Amouage.

I don't get much similarity at all. St. Bart's is a brief lime over a coconutty musk, while Ciel opens with lavender and lily of the valley, then fades into a floral heart with rose and light spices and finally ends with a bright/ethereal frankincense and airy vetiver.

I like St. Bart's but I just don't see the similarity, except in the sheerness of them both. St. Bart's smells very tropical to me, while Ciel smells more like a spring morning.

I'm with SoS on this one. Give it another go sometime. I've owned both and would have never drawn the comparison.

I gave Ciel a wear yesterday and it definitely smells different on the chest than the wrist. While I still stick by my assertion that there are similarities between the two, after wearing it for a full day yesterday, I can say those similarities only appear in the late drydown phase.
